This development was advertised on the front cover of the real estate lift out in Saturday’s ‘tiser so there is plenty of hope yet for a good outcome.

Further to comments in the Realm thread, walked past the display room just now and it's closed, with no scheduled opening hours. Even Park SQ display room on South Terrace, which we hear nothing about is still open three hours a day 5 days a week.

Not a good sign. I do hope it hasn't fallen through.

I walked past the showroom yesterday morning and it was closed, but it was open when I went past again a few hours later. Right from the start it's stated on the door 'open by appointment' (this might be standard for showrooms) rather than give set times. There could be more of an effort to show that it's open, though - a sign placed outside, the door open, better lighting - as it's hard to tell and although there's plenty of signage on the old Trims site, the showroom itself doesn't stand out. Hopefully, given that it was open yesterday, this hasn't fallen over.

That's just dick salesman 101. You make a product look exclusive by making it harder to approach the salesman. There's technically or economically no reason why you wouldn't have a showroom open for business hours, they do this to wind up potential buyers into being more committed to the product before entering the place.

I noticed today that all the branding on the windows has been removed.

Apparently a couple weeks back buyers were given an out of their contract and able to get deposits back.

Pity if thats the case was hoping it would fill a void in the southern skyline. However the developer only has themselves to blame because upfront marketing noting its aimed at becoming a high rise retirement village would have put of a lot of potential buyers not to mention even office occupiers. Not to say they shouldn't be targeting wealth retirees looking at downsizing BUT WHY WHY ADVERTISE IT

Given Karidis track record i'm not surprised in the least.

Some of these developers need to look outside the box - rather than just a standard highrise box of appartments regardless of fittings might be able to distinguish itself from others by having an outdoor courtyard with barbecue facilities, common pool, common gym, movie theatre, possibly restaurants/coffee shops all part of the marketing package advertising the place with resort style living. I know a few have been marketed this way but not enough it seems to be mostly rackem/stackem/packem in like sardines type mentality to marketing

No appetite for high rise apartment living amongst South Australian retirees.

Well I'll be. Didn't see that one coming.

Actually does it really say much about the apartment market? The majority of the building was to be office space, so its failure is more likely to be due to the failure to attract sufficient businesses or secure a major anchor tenant.

I saw a segment on the news saying there were lots of retirees lining up to get a place, along with other apartments in the CBD.
It could have been marketing spin though.
