Enhancing the rich history of Adelaide's iconic performing arts scene, Hansen Yuncken has been awarded the contract by Arts South Australia and Adelaide Festival Centre Trust, to redevelop one of Adelaide’s main landmarks, Her Majesty’s Theatre.
The $66m redevelopment will showcase Hansen Yuncken’s skills in meeting the construction and engineering challenges of this modern transformation whilst respecting the heritage of the theatre lovingly known as the Grand Old Dame of Grote Street.
The redevelopment will include restoration of the building’s heritage façade and Eastern wall, the construction of a new 1,474 seat auditorium over three levels with modern foyers and backstage facilities and a new front entrance and striking canopy.
Commencing construction in April 2018, the theatre will reopen to the public in early 2020.

Hansen and Yuncken are definitely getting a lot of the construction contracts of late, along with Watpac they seem like they're building half the CBD these days.

Sorry to take this a little off track, but can anyone tell me if Multiplex have constructed any buildings in Adelaide? We know they put in a tender for the casino upgrade, was this their first foray into the S.A market?

Yes, Multiplex built the Altitude tower (Balfours place) in 2010.

If Multiplex don't have a presence here in adelaide then surely the're going to get undercut on a lot of projects by companies who are already here such as H & Y.
