Saw this in person this week. So far it doesn’t look bad. It could be worse. One does feel it is a missed oppurtunity though.should add decently to the area. We do really need an iconic building around Vic Square. It is screaming for it.

The highly reflective nature of the facade is redeeming this a touch, still find it underwhelming for the location however.

This development, in that shot, even thought the sky is moody and adding to the effect, looks really quite good! Maybe I was too early with my criticism of this facade?

I still think the design is tremendously underwhelming however.

Reminds me of a building I used to work near in Melbourne at 140 William Street. This was almost 30 years ago, so its probably not the best endorsement to say that this looks like a 70s/80s building, but even walking past William St on my last trip back that building has a rather timeless feel to it.

I know some believe we could have done a lot better for the site, but after seeing all those lacklustre attempts in the alternate design competition this is a much better outcome.

Does it though? Because I've seen it in person and it looks fine... Reminds me of 101 Collins Street, Melbourne.

I think it looks great, maybe it is the nice light in that photo, but pretty good outcome i'd say.

I really hope they clad the core as indicated in the renders, and not cheap out and leave it.
