Added a countdown clock to the site!

#1 Post by Howie » Fri Jul 29, 2005 3:39 pm

Hiya guys, if you wanna check the front page

http://www.sensational-adelaide.com

you'll notice an active countdown timer for major milestones... hopefully this will be a regular thing on the site! Currently it's ticking down to the public opening of the Adelaide Airport on the 18th of October i'm guessing at 9am.

Cheers

Howie

Great but unfortunately the clock you have set up is 3 days slow. The opening day is October 15, not October 18. BTW, I have seen the inside of the new terminal already for myself. You can see the images in the Airport thread at SSC.

gidday AG.... i was waiting for someone to point out the opening date. From what i understand the public opening is on the 18th, and the builders/taxi/officials get to goto the opening 3 days earlier. I couldn't decide what to put down as our countdown date, so i went for the public opening date.

Local residents are also invited to the first opening - perhaps it'd be worthwhile driving around Richmond or West Beach and raiding the locals' letterboxes for one.

The opening of the airport is still pretty far off - maybe instead we should have the clock counting down to when the Crows will win the grand final, then start the airport countdown after that?

Howie, I've noticed the countdown clock has been a bit idle lately. A couple of suggestions for a new event: March 18 state election, Clipsal 500 (23 March).

Since the countdown clock on the Advertiser building was removed, Adelaide has not been the same. It is great to have a new Adelaide countdown clock! :)

I noticed that the other week, the corner of the building looked so odd without it!
