May I make a suggestion? It'll be a long one. Perhaps do it in sections.
Would you consider driving the entire Inner ring route? (A21?)

Nice photos. Looking forward to the South Road/Gallipoli underpass looking the same!

Great photos! I've observed something; I've always wondered why they put in a bus lane, making the road 3+2, but having that pedestrian ramp in, if traffic demand continues to go up, they can always take that out and make it 3+3. (Preferably 2 bus lanes)

I think most of the bridges on the southern expressway are similar, capable of 2+2 if they wanted it.

Preserved panel of Bakewell Bridge parapet on the corner of James Congdon Drive and Henley Beach Road with commemorative plaques
from the 1925 bridge opening, with photos of the bridge and plaque for the Bakewell Underpass, opened in January 2008:

So that is where those plaques went - throught someone may have stolen them or something before the bridge was taken down. The photos and such don't look too duriable - are they going to last or will the weather get to them? They look almost like photos just stuck to the wall really but still worth a look. Thanks for the picture.

They removed the plaques before demolition, & intended to return them to the Underpass ... I had forgotten about them, until I walked
past that corner over the weekend, as they aren't visible in the underpass. With hindsight, it would have been good if they had kept the
pillar with the plaque, as well as the bridge panel ... the "tramway" poles were also placed in storage for West Torrens council to reuse

Driving to work this morning, I saw a brand new fixed speed camera being installed on the down hill run to the Bakewell Underpass coming from the city.

Blatant revenue raising, that is so unbelievably pathetic.

I'm not impressed.

I didn't think SA had stand alone fixed speed cameras, only combined red light and speed cameras.

Someone with the name "warpspeed" complaining about speed cameras...

I also saw this yesterday and was outraged. It was my understanding there can not be speed cameras on slopes, clearly I was wrong.

Surely slopes are the best place to put speed cameras?

Yeah, a car's stopping distance is considerably longer on a downhill slope.
