They are doing some more work on the Noarlunga Line today, from what I saw mostly on the Daws Road and Marion Road bridges.

On the Infrastructure website relating to this project. It mentioned it will be dealing with stormwater issues?? Will there be a concrete stormwater drain to be built running along side the new track work? On the champion photos taken from Xaragmata, there seems to be plenty of room along side the track area, even for a bike track.

Nearmap shows this to be possible?! (I like nearmap as you can tell! )

If only a bridge overpass was to be built on Torrens Road while this stretch of track work was worked on. Surely this must be one of the next grade separation priorities?

Some small stormwater drains installed between the tracks at some stations.

Mainly they are referring to a stormwater drain at Dry Creek which is being replaced with a much larger version.

At North Adelaide, they used about 30cm pipe between the tracks - I assume they just connect it to the existing storm water system. Any bike track would
need to allow for stanchions when electrification takes place, but there is a new path at Islington by the Palm Gardens site. The land for the Torrens Road
overpass was cleared about 20 years ago (or more?), but overpass was never built & is now an urban forest on the north side of Torrens Road.

The speed of progress is impressive, just looking at this shot now though...

That's pretty damn wonky! I assume that isn't how the track actually ends up so how do they go about straightening it? I always assumed they would line up the sleepers before laying the track but do they do it like this first and then straighten it?

thats not too bad actually, you should have seen it when they relayed the Glenelg tramline. That was really wonky sleeper laying in some spots. However a big heavy and expensive machine (tamper or tampering or something) rolls down the track, and actually lifts the track slightly off the ground and adjusts the sleepers and whatnot, to make a perfect straight track.

great photos all around the site lately Xaragmata :D

I rode into town and back on Wednesday afternoon/evening on Flexities-it is noticeable that the ride has become "rocky" in a few spots also there are a few speed restrictions as well.
Overhead between Brighton Road and Moseley Square along Jetty Road Glenelg has been restrung with new "Light Rail" fittings as well it has now been staggered.
There is still a couple of late nights next week to tidy up and remove old poles

For Ray - the drain & concrete sections are visible in Nearmap, alongside the Gawler line near the railcar depot. I guess the penrice stone train has
been replaced with heaps of trucks for the duration.

Rode under the Park Tce overpass today and noticed that they are using wooden sleepers on the inbound track for the length of the overpass.
However on the outbound track, they had concrete sleepers in the same location.

What would be the reason for this?
