This one's very prominent when approaching from North Adelaide. Looks much taller than it is:

There is something seriously happening in the Lot next to the festival tower. All I hear walking by is banging, clanging, drills, hammers, and machinery. Sounds like they're preparing.... for something bigger

I love the shots from the North Adelaide area. It's certainly a modernisation of the skyline. In fact, I would say the southbound journey past the Women's and Children's and St Peter's Cathedral is the grand entrance to Adelaide, the most beautiful angle from which to enter.

This was taken on 31 July, looking northeast from the lane between the railway station and Parliament. The ground part is still very much unfinished.

A couple of ones from this morning showing the podium treatment in Ursus' photo above from a distance.

Just over 10 years since this thread and the first concept design was posted here. Certainly very different!

I count 27 levels, should be over the 100m mark! Nice design too!

Nothing wrong with the tower that's been built from a visual perspective of the tower it self.
But certainly would have been great to see that original concept with the curved top built.

Ten years - that's a long time. Since 2010, thirteen years ago, that area has had:

- The new Royal Adelaide Hospital
- The Adelaide Convention Centre redevelopment
- The Adelaide Oval redevelopment
- The Adelaide Oval footbridge
- The casino expansion
- The first SAHMRI building
- The Adelaide Uni building
- The UniSA building
- The Festival Plaza renovation
- The Festival Plaza tower

The area is almost unrecognisable. That's ten major visual transformations that I can name off the top of my head within a one-kilometre radius. Have a look on Google Earth - there are 970 metres between the eastern part of the RAH and the western part of the eastern AO stand.

April 2022, from a Youtube channel, and it doesn't even show much of the Festival tower yet:

The plaza space had a great atmosphere last night for the Matildas game (well until the last 20 minutes of the match haha)

Flinders University signage was installed today on the southern side of the building

It’s just a shame it’s the new logo and not the old one. The old one had personality, the new one looks like an app logo.

Anyways, who are the other tenants apart from Flinders?
Deloittes are taking up at least four floors and believe they are also taking up signage rights on the northern facade, facing the Torrens.
