A restaurant can spend $40,000 on a fit out and recoup it in a month? Said restaurant will be netting $480,000 a year. That's profit, not turnover. I'm in the wrong business!

Judging from the specifications of the DA, this wont be a 'family restaurant' as such but will also include an entertainment venue (i.e. night club). And from my expereinces on Hindley Street, this place could recoup the costs just by the alcohol sales! In a lot of places you pay up to $8 for a beer!

This was granted a further 12 month extension on January 14.

And with the news that a further 12 month extension was granted last thursday for the hotel proposal, and considering the improved economic forecast, I think the hotel proposal may still have some life in it.

Heartened by the info Will. Do you know why the application was refused? It looked fantastic and very 'un- Adelaide' - an international 'feel' to it. Could the problem be......height?

The application that was refused was to turn the current LC House into a licensed entertainment venue.

aww... that was one of my favorite proposals how could someone let that down? Is the ACC in a sulky mood or something?

The 22 level hotel proposal hasn't been rejected. Please read my post again.What was rejected was a proposal to turn the building currently on site (LC House) into a licensed entertainment venue.

This is good news. Because it means the 22 level hotel, is closer to becoming reality.

Sorry Will - should have read your post more comprehensively. I thought that in rejecting the cafe/gallery/restuarant there was an implication on the rest of the bldg. Too cynical I guess.
