Forum Etiquette

Unfortunately the level of discourse on these forums is at an all time low. Just about every thread or topic I open up is a slanging match between a minor cohort of the same users over and over again.

There was a time when I used to look forward to logging on and reading what news, photos and updates there were on construction and development in Adelaide. Discussion was a lot more respectful, embedded in facts and welcoming.

Now, it is a reluctant despair knowing full well that the only discussions taking place are some idiotic mudslinging commentary that has been provided on politics, ideology, name-calling, alternative facts, etc.

This has got to stop.

Moderators, I am calling for a crackdown on this. Several times I've been close to closing off my account and not coming back because of the constant negativity on here. Something has got to change.

Hear hear. I've been avoiding multiple threads because it's just exhausting.

I think some people just need to put each other on block and leave it at that. Or maybe Howie or the mods can manually do that?

I know it's definitely made the forum more enjoyable and relaxed for me having those people blocked. Definitely doesn't look like much is missed except for whose a boomer and whose woke.

Aww stop playing a victim. You are the most antagonistic one that causes the vast majority of arguments on this forum. The majority of problems would be solved if you were banned.

Agree with everything you've said. I feel much more reluctant to participate in discussion here as there is more immature insults being thrown around than actual on-topic discussion.

there isn't much construction activity going on at the moment in the high rise sector, which is the main thrust of this forum... so people are finding other things to talk about

I have been here since 2007 and last week was the first time I've placed a user on ignore. But even that doesn't help overcome this one user's constant disruption to multiple threads.

What a load of codswallop!! The only person finding other things to talk about is you deliberately targeting mattblack, Patrick_27 and SBD in bullying. You have some nerve razzing everyone up and pointing the finger at me! I gave up the gaslighting business a long time ago but you don't stop.

Click on a persons username, click Add Foe, then click Yes on the pop up.

You can only 'ignore' a user not 'block'. You still see every time they post but you can't read it (unless someone quotes it).

That last part is why I think it's good to remind all to not feed the trolls.

I urge all that are fed up with abc's constant argumentative tone, baseless statements and obnoxious throw away thought bubbles without facts to block him. I have and my enjoyment of this forum has returned to previous levels. Knowone accusing me of political bias or hidden agendas, it's been a good week - long may it continue.
