Such a shame that they deleted the original crown design for this building.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

It's complete overreach and smacks of sneakiness. Aside the nWCH, none of this has been canvassed previously and departs radically from the established masterplan. Why? What's the vision and how do they justify it over alternatives? The sort of lazy governance I've come to expect from the Liberals. ...

Re: University of South Australia | Developments & News

Don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere, but UniSA has taken over the former Night Train building in Light Square and will renovate it to become its Entreprise Hub. More information about its broader capital works re: campus consolidation will probably reach the public domain after October.

[CAN] Re: 20-22 Currie St | 123m | 31lvls | Office

I'd prefer to see the cute little Edwardian building currently there done up to whatever this is. And by "done up" it should be having that heinous paint job that it's "done up" with removed. Also appears that the ground floor has been defaced with some renovation (going by goog...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

The next council elections in November 2022 can't come soon enough. Hopefully the conservative faction can be dislodged and someone with real vision is elected Lord Mayor.

Number 7 is great from a pedestrian standpoint too.

All in all pretty small fry stuff.

Commit to electrifying Outer Harbor now. We should also be aiming to convert the bus fleet to fully electric by 2030 - aside our emissions reduction goals, just imagine how much more pleasant city streets will be without noisy and noxious diesel buses.

There's a nice review of the AACC and its architecture in The Sydney Morning Herald : And the winner is... Adelaide, with the nation’s first Indigenous arts centre. It’s a triumph Elizabeth Farrelly, 28 August 2021 https://www.smh.com.au/national/and-the-winner-is-adelaide-with-the-nation-s-first-in...

It's the big round grassed area in the middle that's the bigger problem. All that space, for no more than 50 people. The capacity could be much higher if we filled in that gap.
Reupping this underrated comment.

The project will complete two decades of development by GuavaLime in the precinct dubbed “Flinders East” by the developer, located at the “Paris end” of Flinders St. It will be the tenth and final building to be completed by GuavaLime on the northern side of Flinders St, between Frome and Hutt stre...

Lol, this article was either written by or ripped directly from a press release by Pelligra's PR. I love that only toward the end of the report is it mentioned that state and council support will be required (not to mention 'free' land in the form of a parklands location). It's not an unreasonable p...
