[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

I remember after the former government settled a lawsuit with Walker sometime around 2014 they argued that the exclusive development rights were 'use it or lose it'. I guess you never really lose anything when you're a connected billionaire though.

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

I guess it does makes sense for Flinders to have a significant CBD presence given they now need to compete more vigorously for domestic students (in the ongoing absence of internationals). But hypothetically, if ever the debate for university mergers re-emerges (which is possible in the timeframe th...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

The turn to townhouses is unsurprising given market trends, but it is disappointing that a 'masterplanned' community would sacrifice the land best suited to high density to something so low yield.

Not the point of your shot, but how typical that the brand new pavement in the foreground has already been dug up and replaced by asphalt.

[COM] Re: Victoria Park Redevelopment

I have just seen major earthworks underway here for wetlands etc. Its been years and I had completely forgot about this site [the last comment to this thread was years ago]. There was a master plan designed and proposed, so does anyone know how far the ACC is going with this? https://www.sensationa...

That leads me to ask re the Festival Plaza 27 storey office block. Why would he build it if there is an over supply and his main prospective tenants signed up at the Southern Cross site.? Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk Because Walker got the land essentially for free. But your point about dem...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

The council actually just closed the first round of consultation on its representation structure. Due to population growth, the present wards are becoming imbalanced and must be redistributed. The council sought input into whether wards should be maintained or rejigged; whether wards should be aboli...

Thanks for the photos! Not a fan of those hanging lights, which appear unnecessary anyway.

So interesting to see the old building revealed even if soon to be demolished.

This should be being planned instead as a city-changing project inside the square mile.
Yes, one would assume that there would be space somewhere within a square mile for this
A known short hand for inside the city grid.

[VIS] Re: Masonic Lodge | 60m | 17lvls | Residential

I welcome a building in this location both for the opportunity it presents to restore the heritage building and to block out views to Dwell behind. However, I think the proposed height is probably overambitious, especially considering its only access will be from the very narrow laneways.

[PRO] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

This will easily exceed $2 billion. Which is a laugh for the party who so roundly criticised the cost of nRAH. At least some of the expense must be down to building in a contaminated, active rail corridor on a fault line. Which is to say nothing for the cost of forsaking parklands, which has apparen...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Also it looks like they will cut my beloved Keswick Creek in half. What will happen to it? Will they pump it under the motorway? Keswick Creek could be incorporated into the James Congdon Bridge. As part of the T2T the Port Road bridge had very large pipes under it. There are also apparently large ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Added to the concerns about Ethelton/Glanville, why Woodlands Park? Surely now would be the time to look at rationalising the stations of Emerson/Edwardstown/Woodlands Park in advance of whatever mess becomes of the South Road upgrade. Although I note only $1.5 million is budgeted for this particula...
