Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
I can't remember where I read it but I am fairly sure I read an article recently that said in just SA alone, there are around 1 million homes just sitting vacant for various reasons. What is Champion talking about? Of course empty houses are important to the current issues.

I really hope this goes ahead. Looks really good for a new development (for once). Also, I'd love to see the inside of the old hall before it gets pulled down. How does one get access for a look and some photos?

Personally, when comparing the two proposals, the first one was a much better use of the site, location and the overall size of the land. The poxy townhouses just don't cut it at this location and its a shame that a big development may never go ahead here. Around the inner city fringe on main roads,...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Another study? That's all that seems to be done when it comes to transport in Adelaide. A huge thick report comes out and just goes on the shelf and gathers dust. Surely there has been enough previous studies done that the current government can use to start some actual work. To me it seems a study ...

Its not a good look for a main street in a capital city. Perhaps if someone did set fire to it, the owners might finally pull their finger out and get on with the redevelopment. What is taking so long?

I really hope this gets rejected and the bluestone building can not be pulled down. This type of development really should be built next door on all of that vacant under used land that was the former bus terminus.

I thought the exact same thing. 30 minute interval is terrible but I expected nothing less of course from Adelaide Metro. Needs to be a 10 to 15 minute interval especially in peak hour to be worth it.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Could not have said it better myself. So much pissing around especially when it comes to public transport and infrastructure in this state. Its quite sad really. So much money has been wasted on plans and brain farts since the 1960's MATS plan. Yet nothing comes of it. But until any government gets ...

I'm yet to visit the new store but going by the photos, that looks smaller than the Myer Centre store surely?

Thanks for that. From my quick look at the fly over, I only really noticed the buildings on the immediate corner next to the gym. I will have to take some photos soon when passing through.

The house next to the gym has been vacant for at least a year following a fire. Other than that and the shop on the corner next to it, what else is going to be demolished?

At least the heritage shop is being kept. I was worried when the site was put up for sale.

The utility building is bigger than the passenger shelter
Seriously though, that shelter should have been at least double that length

I take it "Vertical Transportation" translates to "Lifts"?
