The developers have obviously decided that the residential component to this buildng
is no longer viable. It's a shame not only for the lost height but if done properly
the mixed use effect on a building can be really impressive

[CAN] Re: #Approved: Spire Living - 107m, 37 lvls
Received an e-mail from the developer yesterday. Was all about their proposed housing
in the northern suburbs - no mention of Spire at all. Wonder if this is on the
back-burner again with interest rates, price of steel etc rising ?

When will a crane be installed on this site.....?? Going by how long it took for a crane to go up at Aurora I would say it's a fair way off. Early next year ? Don't think it will be too far away at all. This project has moved along quite swiftly from the first release of the sale to the demolition ...

It’ great to see this project getting off the ground so quickly. I recently looked at the floor plans and the upper stories look very nice. Great to see a development that isn't a block. :D Where can you see the floorplans. Clicked on the above link to their website and it indicates they are not ...

I just did a quick scan through the thread and didn't catch any information about the northern façade. Does anyone have any information about it, or more specifically, can anyone tell me that it's not simply a blank wall? There are two single bed apartments on each level on the northern end of the...

I've checked the whole thread, and there seems to be no mention of how many apartments and sqm of office space is included in this development. I'm adding more information for my CBD Excel list, and just wondering what the stats are with these two. I need them to be compiled as individual projects,...

Great list Shuz. Just wondering whether the "east apartments" on the corner
of Hutt and Angas streets qualifies as it's now under construction _ maybe
it doesn't have the neccesary height to qualify ?

Just in regards to building movement we've just returned from a trip to Melbourne where we
went up to the observation deck on the Eureka building on Southbank. This is on the 88th
level and besides having an unbelievable view of the city it states that the building can move
up to 60cm in the wind

As we are in "the pub" section i would like to have an ale with you one day ATD
to discuss a fair wage system for the average worker. If by getting a wage
rise which only equates to the cost of living annually is not possible as it
accentuates the inflation dragon - what hope is there ?

Re: 08/09 state budget announcements
The point was that wage growth itself causes inflation as they are passed on to consumers. This is one of the many reasons inflation is a positive feedback loop that once unleashed, is very hard to control. Hence the RBA is mandated to inflict "pain" to keep inflation in check. Fine- but ...
