And in another hundred years they will be fighting to save this heritage hospital to commemorate all the lives of women and children saved there. Move on.

[SWP] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital
Why are people complaining about the location? So what it’s a heritage site. Does anyone really go there ? Parklands will go well big deal… how much “parklands” do we really need? It’s a waste of space snd prime location for development. Same things should be happening by south terrace parklands. I...

Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide
This is not the infrastructure SA needs. We must to get our mining boom off the ground first, not to spend $1 Billion in sporting facilities. Our priority should be port upgrades, rail links, a power interconnector from Roxby to Queensland, schools, hospitals, regional development, weirs and lochs,...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade
Another famous full price half measure from the state Liberals, the multipurpose court stadium should absolutely be built where the centre courts are now, no need to do anything to the indoor cricket centre because it'd fit just fine - the current Memorial Drive 'stadium' is no longer fit for purpo...

Re: The Federal Politics Thread
Of course it would have happened regardless of even if the Greens were in power. Our government can't control external factors like what's happening in China with their economic/building boom or slow down. I think the main point of difference though is that the Howard government paid down debt, and...

The Federal Politics Thread
We managed to avoid the big hits of the GFC because of the previous Howard government had left the countries finances in a strong position. Low debt, budget surpluses and strong economic growth. The RBA governor even commented on how strongly the economy was doing not long before the GFC. Rudd took...

[U/C] Re: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | Mixed Use
I'm almost inclined to say the ACC should purchase the site and turn it in to a permanent green space/ public square. Only problem is, it would then be landscaped with dead native grass, a few scraggly eucalypts, and some awful indigenous interpretative paving. It would become another space for hom...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
Yes just the carpark for now & yes I agree it’s going to be slow. They still have to dig out the whole 5 levels underground plus winter/rain to come.. see article below. One of the largest earthworks contracts in South Australia’s construction history has been awarded as a key Riverbank project...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway
The walls on the T2T section are secant pile walls (these are structural) covered with pre-cast panels (non-structural). The Darlington section looks like they've tried to go for unreinforced shotcrete and relying on gravity for it to stay in place (ummm, what?!). So they've made a mistake..? or so...

I'm tipping they'll have to start the entire wall from scratch and use pre cast, any smart people out there suggest what might need to happen? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Looking at the news clip tonight there appeared to be some precast already going over some of the spray on. Wondering i...
