Re: Portrush Rd/South Eastern Freeway intersection discussion.
Ah yes, here it is again, one of Adelaide's most disastrous planning mistakes of the last century coming back to bite hard. Yes, I know that last bingle was an unlicensed driver, but it's still a miracle no one was killed this time around. It never ceases to disgust me that the plans in the mid 90's...

Re: News & Discussion: Transport Projects
a difficult road manoeuvre at the best of times That should read "almost impossible road maneuver". That junction has been a black spot for decades, not just in peak but during the day and weekends. In peak hour, forget it - right turn out of Fosters is not worth the time or trouble. How ...

[COM] Re: U/C: South Road Superway | $842m | 3km
Main North Road was changed to A52 when the Northern Expressway opened, but the changing of signage seems to have stalled. I've heard that the Northern Connector will be M20, which suggests a changeover from M20 to M2 at the superway/PRExy interchange.

[COM] Re: U/C: South Road Superway | $842m | 3km
There's a sign on Regency Road which says M2 as well... ...and on Grand Junction Road too, showing the "North South Motorway" as National M2. If I get a chance, I'll grab some photos. There's a changeable sign on South Rd heading north towards regency that also says exactly the same thing...

Re: News & Discussion: MetroCard System
Tried the online top-up yesterday - works well. Takes until the next day for the credit to appear on the card, and when it's next validated, the yellow light comes on to indicate it has been topped up. My only suggestion was that they include the ability to e-mail you a copy of the receipt when topp...

Re: News & Discussion: MetroCard System
I haven't yet butchered a card to find out 100%, but to my knowledge, the bit that matters is a roughly 10mm x 5mm chip sitting almost entirely within the AdelaideMetro logo.

Now that I'd love to see. With the OBahn retained in the median.[Shuz] wrote: Perhaps a reinstated proposal for a tolled Modbury Freeway?
I'd pay a toll for that!

Re: Public transport smartcard system
Got mine on Thursday night. It's been working a treat! Only got one ride left on my last multitrip - hopefully I don't have to buy any more.
I wonder if we'll get invited to trial the online platform once they get that sorted

Re: Public transport smartcard system
Been told that I've qualified for the trial, and after a follow-up e-mail in a couple of weeks, my new card will be ready at the Info Center. Bring it on!

Re: Major issues with new Bus Operator Transfield
I can believe that - would explain why those who left on time could be seen travelling as slow as 30-40km/h on a 60km/h road. Torrens Transit rostering was crap to say the least, according to the drivers (not just the commuting public). So for Transfield to f**k it up so badly by comparison... eithe...

Re: Major issues with new Bus Operator Transfield
Notice that many services leave late due to drivers taking too long for breaks, including time spent smoking,on their mobiles-doesn't seem to be any urgency by some of them to leave their terminuses on time. It's been like that for well over a decade - Torrens Transit, Serco, even Trans Adelaide (wh...

Re: Major issues with new Bus Operator Transfield
Agree wholeheartedly with rubberman, no doubt it's happening everywhere! My Dad worked at what are now DTEI customer service centres for the whole of his life, and it was depressing to see the department just go downhill, the disbanding of the Highways Department and outsourcing of all expertise. Wh...

Re: Major issues with new Bus Operator Transfield
My Mum often catches the O-Bahn from Banksia Park into the City for work. The other day she was waiting at a bus stop in Grenfell Street for the return trip when the 542 arrived. The bus driver opened the doors and yelled out that he would be taking North East Road as this bus was not fitted with g...
