Re: Kilkenny TOD
For archiving purposes: 600 homes planned in Kilkenny development (30 May 2012) RESIDENTS have backed a plan for a 600-home housing development, specialty shops, a childcare centre and community garden at the former Bianco Precast site next to Kilkenny Station. The plans, which are yet to be lodged ...

Re: News: Adelaide City Council
Oh for crying out loud Mutt. It's about balancing various transport options. Whilst they are discouraging private car use slightly, it is not being eliminated. If you absolutely insist on driving so you don't have to breath the same air as all the poor unwashed, then you're still welcome to. That's...

Re: Public transport smartcard system
I applied for the trial a few days ago. It'll be good once the system is up and running, away from the archaic Crouzet system we've been stuck with for years and years now.

Re: Kilkenny TOD
They should abandon the Woodville TOD. That's doomed, purely because the local community is so vehemently against it; myself included. I don't see it as NIMBYism, just the locals standing up for what remains of the area's last true open space. Abandon that development and pump the cash into Kilkenn...

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr
Agree. The people (well me at least) don't want more stupid freeways to encourage more people to drive. We want quality public transportation. And we want it now (not 2020). We need to get people out their cars. Besides the short-term/quicker impacts, there's far more serious long-term negative asp...

Re: Bowden Village TOD (Clipsal site)
Had a thought about this the other day. It's one thing to build classy, top-notch apartments and create a good lifestyle - and sell both successfully. But... what's going to keep the people there? So far, that's lacking to me. You can put together a fantastic development with the best transport link...

[COM] Re: South Rd Upgrades - News & construction ONLY | U/C: Supe
The State Government has set a target of 2020 by which to have the whole South Road project completed. Eight years left. Fingers crossed! I'd like to see them tackle Regency Road to Anzac Highway in one hit. But if they were to do that hypothetically, that would mean creating an alternate north-sout...

Having unemployment at around 5.2% is low Might want to take in to account inflation when calculating 80's debt level with todays. Having a deficit is not necessarily a bad thing as indicated by us keeping a AAA credit rating I give 0 credence to anything that is written in the Australia. Diabolica...

Re: McLaren Vale Overpass
Does anyone actually still buy the street directory? considering we now have GPS, Google Maps etc Yup. Personally, I couldn't be bothered with a GPS, and have got from A to B quicker without one than friends of mine who have used theirs. GPS systems in cars is dumbing smart people down. Many of the...

Obviously not the Liberal Party when they were in government! :D Gotta love the Liberals of old. 'Let's build a freeway down south! But.. who cares about funding it properly. Just have it run in one direction, and we're cool.' that wasn't the thought process at all. The reason SExy runs in one dire...

Re: #VIS: CBD Tram Loop
Definitely too many bends. There'd be a ton of stops looking at the location/path of that route, slowing it down even more. Agree with a simple tramline that connects east to west via the CBD, and vice versa. Not sure linking a tramline to the Airport, I think we need something quicker and more phys...

Re: McLaren Vale Overpass
It's a tricky route. I'm no construction expert, but you'd probably need a slight mix of both tunnels and a new route. But thinking along the lines of the path of least resistance, along Bangor Road to the west could be a possible corridor. Cuts through a bit of arable land and property though, but ...

Connect it to the Victor Harbor Ring Road?
If the McLaren Vale Interchange is the start of something down the track in the future, then a fully upgraded stretch of road needs to bypass Willunga Hill. Bad experiences a few years ago...
