Bank Street has definitely gone to the dogs. It needs to be closed off from cars asap.
Leigh Street needs some work too - repaving and bird management.

Why would they not be in favour of rail over road? Almost certainly the least disruptive on the balance of things.
This is shaping up to be benefits of the many vs benefits of the few.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
I'd anticipate that the required gradient for a tunnel under the Torrens from Park Terrace would be too steep. If the OH line were to be converted to a busway, then it'd be physically easier and far cheaper to run a track through the Parklands to join up with Currie Street. The OH/Grange line has o...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Buses would render the Torrens Junction a waste of money.
Stations can probably be culled, and more grade separations are needed.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
A more subtle but significant issue with running dual gauge on three rails is platform clearance. Running the same body on the standard gauge rails moves the centre of the train 3.25 inches (about ten centimetres) closer to the common rail than broad gauge, and hence shifts the edge of the train to...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Just a question. Has the possibility of a service as far as Two Wells or Virginia ever been contemplated? With electrification to Gawler complete by the end of this year, maybe, there ought to be the ability to have a very fast service from those stations to the CBD if it just did Two Wells, Virgin...

DIT have launched an online survey.
I encourage everyone to mention expanding project scope to include grade separation (and a new station) at Jetty Road.

Entrances/exits should cater for freight movements only. This is where Darlington failed a bit.

It's a big sum of money for space that is used not much more than a few weeks of a year.
Would have much preferred a rectangular stadium, or a multi-purpose arena, failing that.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Yeah nah, Melbourne residents are fed up with constant delays.
Above all, I'm actually quite disappointed to see quite a few people here seemingly in favour of the flogging off of another asset that we, as taxpayers, are meant to own.

Here's just one example of why privatisation is a shocker.
