[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

The main reason for the Motorway very much was for freight and improving community health and road safety by getting trucks off local roads. Just because commuter traffic too lazy to use public transport (however poor it is) will become the main use, doesn't mean the project should actively bend ove...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

Stop encouraging people to move to Mount Barker and build housing around the existing underused stations. There's plenty of land around the Gawler line that's vacant and could be used for housing. Agreed, but we can thank Paul Holloway for approving the massive expansion after a conflict of interes...

Good Lord, that does not look pretty. It looks overengineered. That bridge to Anzac Highway the CBD doesn't need to be there because I thought the main purpose of the freeway was for freight and moving it along the corridor. This bridge will only further encourage the car commute to the city. Agree...

[U/C] Re: [U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I doubt it does. It would be far easier/cheaper to take all of the houses on the other side (and a couple of businesses). Most of them are old places sitting on huge blocks of up to 40-50m in length and from what I can see in Google, they are mostly undivided. Perhaps that would be easier, but I ju...

The business - not the building - of Tennyson Centre (north of Gallipoli Underpass) has been sold to another buyer.

Staff as yet unaffected, so unsure if connected to the upgrade.

IMG_20210924_144554.jpg Looking at that, how they want to put bars and cafes behind parliament, it would have been better to sink the plaza and do that. But I guess a car park was part of their overall plan.. It's Adelaide. Car parks are more important than the things they serve. This. Adelaide is ...

Not my photos - old ones from under Grange Road during construction of T2T. Just for general interest.

I wonder how the issue of the Park Terrace bridge was resolved - it was apparently too low for electrics.

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

Hopefully these traffic lights are an interim measure and an overpass gets built in the [near] future. However very frustrating considering the billions we have/are spending along the route. Possibly they are waiting for the suburb to achieve critical mass and/or after the State Govt has made enoug...

Test trains are apparently operating as part of the Park Terrace rail crossing in Salisbury.

Electrics accelerate and decelerate faster than diesels. In fact they probably outperform the diesels in every aspect.

Tunnels might be more expensive, but this is the least visually intrusive method of completing the project for once and for all. It guarantees safety of key heritage along the route, with Labor earlier campaigning for protection of Thebarton Theatre. Labor could claim a small win for themselves with...

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

They'd better be leaving a reserve for a train line... When Port Wakefield road is eventually built into a freeway it should have a rail line down the middle just like Perth's Joondalup line That can work, as could a branch from Salisbury to serve Salisbury North, Burton and the like (all of which ...

Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs

Billy's Lane - Boneshaker Cafe, Gelina Milk Bar, Little Pot and Bao have closed in Myer Centre Food Court, they hadn't paid rent for 3 months and had a foreclosure on the stores, a black hording was placed in front of the stores. The lights are still on and nothing has changed behind it. Also the s...
