Looking at that, how they want to put bars and cafes behind parliament, it would have been better to sink the plaza and do that. But I guess a car park was part of their overall plan..

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

Ridiculous to put an AFL club there, on a site that could be used for housing and public space. Especially considering Thebby oval isn't far away and under utilised.

Re: New City Arena

These are essentially just the talking points of the state opposition. It's good politics but unless we're only interested in staying 'on message' there is scope to unpack it a little further. Investment in entertainment facilities and (very non-specific) investment in health infrastructure are not...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I drove out to Virginia yesterday, first time I've been through Regency Park since before construction started. Smooth sailing from the Torrens onwards, the two sections felt like they'd been built at the same time, blended seamlessly. Driving on the grooved concrete of the northern connector felt ...

Re: New City Arena

Artists are not the ones bypassing us. It is the promoters. The reason has nothing to do with venues. We have venues. The reason is money. They don't make money or struggle to make money here. It is what it is. This also applies to many of the music festivals we used to have, very little profit was ...

[APP] Re: 88 O'Connell Street | 63m | 13, 13 and 15 Levels | Mixed Use

The fact that most of the people interested in purchasing an apartment in this development are already from North Adelaide, just goes to show that progress has been hindered all these years by a very vocal minority and in the silent majority were in favour of this development. Those who objected sh...

[VIS] Re: Masonic Lodge | 160m | 39lvls | Mixed Use | NEW TALLEST

The Freemasons approved the project, i.e. their members elected to proceed with a proposal. Nothing lodged. Also the article says 33 storeys, so maybe got a chop. I hope not, I'm really hoping for it to stay at 160m. If so I'll be writing a Firery letter of disappointment to freemasons and to the p...

Re: New City Arena

Where was the significant resistance to the Adelaide Oval rebuild? There was a minority section within SACA opposed to it because it looked like (with some justification it turned out) the SACA heads were selling Adelaide Oval to the AFL, in exchange for getting bars and dining rooms named after th...

Its actually a former senior transport department bureaucrat.
Pretty detailed render for a former staff member..

I like how the render shows perfect grass and trees.
Too bad the reality would be dirt and poorly maintained trees.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

How can anyone living within 100m of South Road seriously still be surprised when their house has been nominated for compulsory acquisition? Agreed. No sympathy for them at all. They knew this was coming years, if not a whole decade in advance. That's more than enough time to plan for relocation. A...
