[PRO] Re: [PRO] Re: 1-8 North Terrace | 108m | 2 x 32 Levels | Apartments

There's good odds it'll turn out cheap looking. Advertiser price tag aside, its a prime location and entry to the city. If anything actually gets built this time. I wouldn't be surprised if there's another 2 or 3 proposals in the coming years before an unimaginative stumpy square box is built. Prob...

[PRO] Re: 1-8 North Terrace | 108m | 2 x 32 Levels | Apartments

And right there in this article is my reason for being somewhat skeptical of the quality of the final product... $72m price tag for two 108m buildings. There's good odds it'll turn out cheap looking. Advertiser price tag aside, its a prime location and entry to the city. If anything actually gets b...

[PRO] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

They should convert the Morphett Bridge level of the convention centre into the western concourse for the railway station. I reckon it is doable. Just need to cut out the floor slab to align with the platform ends and put in stairs and escalators and lifts. Bit of an engineering and logistical chal...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

There was a part in SATAG's presentation citing past travel time for SteamRanger services from Adelaide Railway Station to Mount Barker in 47 minutes. It can be done. So a steam train could do it in 47 mins, but a modern diesel electric nearly 1.5? Those guys from 100 years ago would laugh their he...

Skyscrapers aren't going to make Adelaide as relevant as it once may have been.
A thriving and growing economy will do that.
Growing our slice of the national economy will make South Australia more relevant.

Re: CBD Policing & Behaviour

It's not illegal to be drunk in a public place, but the Police have the power to take you to, direct quote from the SAHealth site.. the person's home a sobering-up unit a place proclaimed by the Minister a police station. So why doesn't that happen more often? Not just for Aboriginals, but anyone dr...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

Freight trains probably aren't the best thing to compare travel times to. It might take roughly half an hour by car, but not everyone has a car, or wants to drive. I've said before we should expand passenger trains beyond the metropolitan area to our regional areas. These sorts of projects are 'stat...

in your opinion Yes, because this is a forum and most people express their opinion. That being said, I would safely say that Matt's opinion represents a majority of users on here and most people who have seen this building in the flesh. I'd go as far as saying Matts opinion represents the majority ...

Re: New City Arena

Ramping is one problem, the other major problem is there aren't enough ambulances. The MFS also has issues. We have wonderful new motorways (that nobody seems to keep tidy with debris all over), but critical services are fucked. And this current government thinks its a good idea to spend 700 million...

The crane needs to rise before they can do much more and although the pieces have been delivered I believe the people needed for the raise are stuck in Sydney.
