[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

There is an element of "use it and they will come". It is really hard to guess how many people are not riding along South Road because they don't feel safe. You actually think that the majority of people don't ride a bike because they don't feel safe? Sounds more like you're projecting yo...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

#5481 Post by Simmos083 » Mon Nov 29, 2021 8:13 pm This motorway is needed to get our state moving with freight and cars which is critical for any city. It encourages cars to use it which is what we need. We do not need to waste our money on stupid bike lines for people who think for one minute the...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Im all for segregated bike lanes. Most cyclists in lycra make their own road rules, so it would be a huge benefit. Let the problems they create be solely confined to a realm affecting them selves and other cyclists only. Why does every road project need to be a cycling route as well? There isn't th...

Anyway, getting back to the topic.
In Andy's first photo, there's black mesh or tarps on the adjacent building. Anyone know why? Don't recall seeing this on other developments?

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

You assume I don't ride a bike already. The bike lanes might not be safe in that they offer no protection, but that raises other questions such as should they be there to begin with which as I've stated here before I think cycling lanes should be segregated from motorist lanes. For that very reason....

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Rev, if you build infrastructure for cycling, it WILL be used. Less people are riding because the appropriate infrastructure isn't there. A painted line on a road is not sufficient. Belgium and the Netherlands are prime examples. South Road t2t..since the motorway opened surface traffic has decreas...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Every time someone complains about bike lanes. They could make an entire road a bike lane and some people still wouldn't be happy. And we all know many of the cyclists still wouldn't be able to stay within the marked bike lane. In all honesty who gives a shit about how big the bike lanes are. Good ...

Who cares about internal politics of the parties, they're all dodgy no matter who you vote for. Which one of them though is going to fix the economy? City Central has for lease signs up, the Advertiser building has for lease signs up, and that new office block on Wakefield St has for lease signs up,...

[U/C] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Why couldn't we have just bulldozed the old one and built a fantastic world-class venue instead of such a band-aid solution? It's an eyesore. But you're in support of the arena across the river. Because it's worth building and it's not a band-aid solution. Go and bother someone else with your sarca...

Re: Adelaide Oval news and events

Will be interesting to see how this is enforced and managed. If you're required to show your Medicare app to old mate security guard as you go through the turnstiles it could slow entry down dramatically. I wonder if there is some way this could be tied to your ticket and done before the gate? This...
