What a joke this is. On hold again until April 22 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I mean, probably a good idea to wait until there's... y'know... tourists before you start building a hotel. By the time you finish in about 2 to 3 years won't the tourists be back ? I mean no one will be able to st...

Re: Crane Counter: CBD 9 | Metro 2 | Total 11

Not a construction site but there's a hammerhead crane erected a few streets away from Arndale at what I assume is the yard for Titan cranes.

Surprised its allowed, its virtually surrounded by residential.
What would the height limit be?

Hey Rev, haha,I'm not here to one up anyone mate. I trust you aren't either. I'm keen for genuine discussion and am open to being persuaded from existing beliefs. Perth's economy is much larger. And I'm proposing that Adelaide (a gamma world city with a small metro market) should aspire to reaching...

I take your point Patrick. You rightly point out that there are some important cities without skyscrapers. But to be fair, the majority of the alpha global cities have them and even a number of beta world cities have them. I concede that there are a number of European cities that have towers equal ...

There's no "thanks" button anymore. But I would press it for this post. I'm sorry, but I call bullshit on that. Skyscraper being the mark of a world city? I suppose Rome has a massive skyline? Or Edinburgh perhaps? Hell, have you seen Montreal's skyline? HUGE! Skylines don't make world ci...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I think there are two conversations going on here. One is to do with their current system, they are inconsistant with road names when they are on the green part of the sign. The other is to do with a potential future system, aligning the exists with a numbering system. I believe that this numbering...

Both AIDN and Project Alpha Plus agree that Australia had all the skills, technology and experience necessary to build key components of the submarine, including the steel hull, parts of the combat system, sonar, propellers, the torpedo handling system and much more. "I think we probably will ...

[PRO] Re: Hindmarsh Stadium Upgrade

I know it will cost more but Heritage buildings can be move and a tunnel can be build. Or just stop trying to reinvent the wheel and build a stadium somewhere more appropriate. Or....do nothing but minor upgrades as is currently happening. Either way we will still be talking about what to do in 15 ...

There are projects of far more pressing importance than the proposals for Main South Road. What a waste of money.
Whatever happened to the report of all the bridges that were in urgent need of repair or replacement?

Wouldn't it just be easier to actually get the signage right to begin with instead of trying to reinvent the proverbial wheel

Could elevation be a factor? Not that there would be much difference. I suspect that 203N is about a metre or two higher than 269N. As from the intersection of Frome and Rundle is pretty downhill from there to the Torrens. I'm pretty sure there's a marked elevation shift between the two locations. ...

They could bring it to the intersection, but then that creates the problem of idiots who will jump in that left lane and then hold up traffic trying to cross over to the middle and right lanes.

This is Adelaide, there's more dick heads with drivers licenses then almost any other demographic.

Christopher Pyne: Move the scoreboard, flatten the hill and build a new grandstand to turn Adelaide Oval into a true stadium Christopher Pyne reckons Adelaide Oval will never host the AFL grand final ... unless we plug its “gaping hole” with a new northern grandstand. He even has a name in mind. Ch...

Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

As Patrick alluded - the maximum ground capacity is completely irrelevant in this decision as in SA the crowd is currently limited to 20,000. The Grand Final went to WA because they do not have the same capacity restrictions as SA - this is a product of the COVID situation and current health direct...

Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

I also heard (but haven't verified) that the AFL had a number of people from Sydney and Melbourne they wanted to attend the event in person, to which SA Health flat out said "no". Then why do they have no problem letting in AFL teams and umpires throughout the year, and now raising crowd ...
