Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

I said plantation they're still trees aren't they? yes or no? do you need a science lesson? Are you under the impression that the reason the pine plantation was cut down was to make room for the solar panels? The reason is unimportant. The fact they were cut down and not replaced with new trees, bu...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

I was driving up South Road past the Happy Valley reservoir this afternoon and noticed they'd chopped down a whole plantation forest which has been there since I was born and replaced it with solar panels so much for 'green energy' From what I recall, it was always regarded as a commercial p...

Not sure if this has been posted yet. From the Burnside Village website. r6SqDjJMzsw?si=D_DkWLtrzNF0Q7gB I enjoy how just before the camera leaves the mall it does a fade to all the greenery vanishing, showing what it will "really" look like? All gonna look very shiny and high end e...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

I could not agree more with the general gist of the last two posts. Have been spending a fair bit of time in the Botanic gardens in the last few months, and it's always so lively and well-used. Obviously we could never afford to landscape all the parklands to that standard, but it shows how much pot...

[PRO] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 149m | 38 Levels | Office

A lot of people seem to forget how bleak and boring the original festival plaza was with its painted concrete cubes and the camouflaged car park exhaust stack and the leaky car park. It was even more boring in winter. I loved the Hajek Plaza, but it was compromised from the start (gardens and water...

[PRO] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 149m | 38 Levels | Office

In hindsight, with this plaza redevelopment half complete now, the foot bridge is not in an ideal location. For quickly getting people between the oval and the train station and rest of the city it's a great position. Wouldn't really want the majority of foot traffic being directed through the plaz...

[CAN] Re: 207 Pulteney Street | 180m | 55 Levels | Mixed Use

Even if the Mason tower doesn't get up it doesn't have the same vibes. This feels like it could have been an overreach and attempt to boost the land value, whereas that sort of sale almost certainly isn't on the table for the masons.

Regardless of past troubles and allegedly sus deals, this plan is progressive and good for the area. If It all goes to plan, its going to a fantastic space for the public to enjoy. I think this will really utilize the tram stop to its full potential as a premier destination to enjoy on the limited ...

Festival Towers 1 & 2 will have very limited parking, are very close (as close as you can get) to the railway station that all lines in Adelaide feed into, is close to the tram stop, bus stops, people can walk or cycle or walk along the river. It will be six star energy rated, and companies mov...

Greens calling Adelaide "legoland" because of this development is going to backfire. Everyone loves lego, and a legoland sounds great. Why does the media give them a voice, they're a literally socialists hiding like cowardly pigs behind a shallow and hollow green agenda. They have like 2 ...

This is really a couple of key parts: There is also the option for 3,000 square metres of public civic space across four levels which could, the government said, be used for cultural events and performances. The state government said Walker Corporation has a "long lease" on the land. But U...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Isn't the rail lease holder supposed to maintain the line in working condition? If so, it shouldn't be an issue to run a special service. That was how the deal was presented at the time, to reduce backlash from giving up the line, but it's well known that there has been no enforcement of that condi...
