[APP] Re: 75-79 King William Street | 124m | 36 Levels | Wyndham Grand Hotel

Obviously the Adelaide hotel market was not something they are desperate to move into - hope it still happens would be nice addition to skyline However it was previously noted that the Wyndham Grand Hotel on King William Street would be the first in Australia - well that didnt turn out to be true h...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

:) sigh all you want...its relevant because you're suggesting fossil fuels need subsidies to be economically viable...which is pure poppycock if we are having to subsidize these industries its only because of the climate accords which we signed up to are adding a tariff that needs to be offset ...bu...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

'renewables' would cease to exist overnight Of course you are entitled to an opinion, but since the only figures I can find suggest that fossil fuels receive far higher subsidies, do you have any reason to back up your opinion? The diesel fuel rebate costs more per year than the army. Do you really...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

I would agree that in a city which hits 40+ in summer, having busy walkways have shade is important.

Would also suggest that if Parliament is so exceptional we shouldn't block views of it, we probably shouldn't be building office blocks practically on top of it.

[APP] Re: 75-79 King William Street | 124m | 36 Levels | Wyndham Grand Hotel

Is this project still going ahead? FYI we don't usually bump threads without new activity. If there are updates someone will post them. Last year the messaging was that construction would "hopefully start in 2023" so who knows. Could well be dead, but there wasn't going to be on any rush ...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

Simple reason there would be a moratorium on renewables....The only way nuclear power can compete with other forms of power (including coal) is if the plant is govt built and competition is removed. Yep. If there were private operators really wanting to invest in nuclear power production in Austral...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Labor really needs to bring back its plans to extend the Tram lines. A tram line loop through the city going through East Tce / Hutt / Wakefield / Grote / West Tce or Morphett would be ideal. Would service new developments being the Arcade and hotels/apartments. An extension of the line to O'Connel...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

Do you think electrifying the Seaford line added an extra level of complication without really solving any problems? If not, what’s the difference? Electrifying the O-Bahn gets rid of emissions from buses, reduces operating costs, and improves performance (particularly on uphill sections). But perh...

Sorta on this subject, the bus I took home yesterday was one of the hydrogen fuel cell buses being trialed, amazing quiet and had astonishing acceleration.

'family friendly' is industry code for low end
Doesn't look very low end from the rooms linked.

Brand seems like a great fit for the site in my opinion.

Have we had a single multi-building project in Adelaide that HASN'T been a complete balls-up?
The former Balfours site in the city or City Central?
The former Balfours site which has been the empty shell of the Balfours factory on the corner for the past 20 years?
