[COM] Re: #U/C: Uni of Adelaide - Med School | 62m | 13lvl | $120m
I think it is the facade that makes it look like a car park although it had to be pointed out to me to see it. I thought the original renders looked quite striking, applying what appeared to be the aesthetic of railway junctions worked well in with the nearby train station. As for the cost, yep, the...

The definition of a 'bed' for the sake of numbers are a moving target. It depends if acute medical units or day stay beds have been included in the mix. Anyway, I doubt they will close the QEH but I dare say facilities including research may be downsized and moved to the newer facilities on north Te...

It reads to me more like they will have a few waiting rooms, they'll just be spread out depending on the patients problem. That's how it reads to me as well so it is misleading to suggest that no waiting room will be present. It is a bit like the 4 hour rule which when introduced caused the creatio...

From Adelaide Now THERE will be no Emergency waiting room, with arrivals immediately triaged then escorted to the appropriate area to await treatment. I find this highly amusing. Just like it was less than a year between the declaration of 'No patients shall have to wait in the corridors,' whilst o...

Doesn't surprise me. Their pizza wasn't bad as far as franchise pizzas go but was horridly overpriced. To make overpriced yet only slightly better than mediocre pizza profitable, a better location is needed. (the gourmet title for overpricing only works in trendy areas, not where low to low-middle c...

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network
If a doctor pulled this shit with their medical research, they'd have their medical funding and license revoked so fast ala Andrew Wakefield. I can't understand why it is ok for a politician to do it with an entire country's internet infrastructure.

Yes, these 22C, lightly drizzly days are taking their toll on my garden plants too.

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network
The whole situation is looking corrupt. There's a big difference between incompetence and corruption. How about a Greens led government? At this point I'm willing to try that. You know, that is exactly what I've been thinking and not saying. I thought it was borderline corruption the amount of lies...

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network
I would suggest the ultimate design of the current government's solution is still very much a work in progress. I completely agree with you on this. If there is any more possible way for Turnbull to downsize, withdraw promises and technology investment, or just generally f*** up the NBN any further...

Crikey, I'll be interested to see what they plan to do with that stretch. Narrow with commercial on both sides and numerous side roads... sounds like a dog's breakfast.

*sigh* I have to agree there is really very little to do for tourists in Adelaide if they have outgrown clubs. As to the inference that medical research is the opposite of enjoyable well, I get that nobody is going to look up through the windows and be pumped into rave mode by watching scientists fi...

Rubberman, I am buggered if I can pick why you were out for blood against my posts a few pages back. Reading your last few posts I see that our views on the NBN and its management are quite aligned. As for Telstra's input, if I remember correctly from the information at the time, pre-constructuion, ...

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network
Hi amused. Absolutely no nerves plucked at all. However, there was the opportunity to set a couple of things straight that are extremely important going forward. If the Coalition is not forewarned about the system extension issues before it does whatever it does, then it is going to fall neck deep ...

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network
Amused, The best solutions are always market solutions IF they can be found. For the case of utility networks such as the NBN or Telstra's copper, there is no such thing as a market. The network is a monopoly. So you have a choice of a government monopoly, or a private monopoly. If you have a priva...
