[VIS] Re: Topham Mall apartment project
If it ever is redeveloped, I’d love to see it opened up so that there is a full width pedestrian street the whole way through to Waymouth st. As it currently stands, pedestrians are funnelled through a narrow walkway once they enter the built over part of the mall, and given this is such an ...

Guess what, Rundle mall have just announced they going to demolish part of the David Jones complex and build a multi story luxury retail precinct.
Is this the final nail in the coffin for Burnside? Considering Rundle Mall have got like 600,000 people walking past each week.

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects
And to be fair the ACC are pretty good at keeping the mall pavers clean and chewing gum free. I've never lived anywhere else where indoor floor cleaning machines are routinely used on an outside mall. They definitely do a good job with this.
Charles Street is a massive improvement, but really ...

The lower levels look OK but the tower is mediocre in my opinion.

Could this be why Tiffany and Co are relocating? Would make sense... This is Adelaide Central Plaza, no?
Shame that it's not the neighbouring Johnnies carpark. :(
Great site for luxury apartments or an international hotel chain.
David Jones would probably want to reduce their leased floor ...

Smart purchase in my opinion. Iconic location. Tram stop out the front.
Victoria Square views can’t be built out (although western views will be obscured with the new Central Market buildings).
Victoria Square will be an even more desirable location once the new market development is finished ...

Re: VIS: East-West Link
Why is this even needed when both Labor and Liberals are co-funding a $850M freight bypass east of the Adelaide Hills?
Better to spend this money on public transport.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
I like it. Great idea introducing an all-stop service between Flinders > Salisbury, meaning the Gawler > Seaford services can run express through the inner/middle suburbs.
I still think a 15 min weekday frequency on the Flinders > Salisbury all-stop line should be the aim if we want to grow ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Both the Concordia and Roseworthy extensions would be single track in my opinion, with a 30 minute frequency on both lines. Once the lines join at Gawler it would maintain the 15 minute frequency on the Gawler Line. Basically, the Gawler Central line would become the Concordia Line and the Gawler ...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)
The State is plunging into debt and there does not appear to be any business case for spending half a billion+ $ for this.
Several other States are planning or building indigenous centres, so the idea ours would be a national drawcard - as originally promoted - has pretty well dissipated.
I ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Given Gawler/Seaford would essentially merge as one through line utilising new underground platforms - let's call them U1 and U2 - that immediately frees up platforms 1-5.
But then the issue moves from a capacity issue at Adelaide Railway Station to a capacity issue on the actual Gawler rail ...

Does anyone understand what happens with the glass in sections above the podium like this? It looks like it’s an extra layer of glass around an already glazed building? Is there anything already built that does something similar?

Would be great for that rooftop lighting feature to be LED lights which can synch to the colour theme on the footbridge and Adelaide Oval.

Even with a flat-roof, this new design with the diamond facade is way more iconic and unique than the original proposal (which I thought was rather meh - but that that’s just my opinion).
However, I think that the podium is now not as open and nice as the original design. I can’t put my finger on ...

That is stunning - big improvement!!! Love it!
Truly an iconic design now. Love the rooftop restaurant and bar.
Will be so exciting to see this one go up together with Keystone tower, both due for completion in 2027.
