Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
A ground level carpark. Relatively cheap to build, relatively easy to build on top of. These things don't need to exist forever. The nature of large precincts such as the airport means that you can't build everything in its final form all at once. It goes like this: Demolish some old sheds and build...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
When do we go back to talking about the airport? When people stop feeding the troll. Easier to put them on ignore and let them starve... Back onto the airport, they're currently building a new ground level carpark opposite Bunnings and Ikea. It's a reasonably large area. Apparently this will replac...

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development
The 5 story building at 199 Grenfell St is being renovated. I believe this is linked to the new WCH and the closure of the Police Barracks, with SAPOL moving into the building once complete.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
I assume it would get turned in to a park rather than sold off. Cant imagine the site contamination would allow for a house to be built on it. Contaminated land probably doesn't make for a great park either. In many ways, medium to high density housing with minimal garden is a good way of dealing w...

[PRO] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 149m | 38 Levels | Office
Rewind 15 years and the site where this building and Building 1 stand was public space. It seems to ask why is public space being given up to a developer to build an office tower. Could the tower not be built on the site of the Riverside Centre? Or between the Intercontinental and North Terrace. The...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure
Stages 1A and 1B are the "boring" bits of the project for me. But at 400MW, the nameplate capacity is already 1/3 larger than the current largest wind farm! I'm more excited for the next stages and champing at the bit for that 900MW/1800MWh battery. Absolute game changer. 1A and 1B are fa...

Morphett Rd grade seperation may also form part of the project whilst the tram line is closed Can confirm Morphett Road grade separation has been scrapped. It's still showing on the DIT website, although details are very scarce. When was it announced that it had been scrapped? Traffic flow at Morph...

Screenshot_2024-03-27-08-34-39-225_com.android.chrome-edit.jpg So anyway. Stage 1 under construction 400MW of wind). Final delivery of turbines on site by about September. Stage 2 is 600MW wind and 600MW solar. But the game changer is a battery delivering 900MWh for 2 hours at a time. Say whatever ...
