That was 2 months ago… we’d be getting close to a crane here?
Crane is still a while off. Early next year would be my half informed guess.

[APP] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 124m | 38 levels

This is out for tender. I’m assuming the “tender process” is largely online these days, but I did notice an ad from Multiplex in the Tiser today asking for sub-contractor submissions. Open tender by the looks; they will call through various methods for transparency. Let's hedge our bets as to who w...

While I'm not 100% sure, I think there may eventually be 2 cranes on site.

2 towers, 2 cranes makes sense..

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Can someone "accidentally" send one of the demo vehicles through the carpark, please? Agreed. I would think that considering the mass excavation of this site that it wouldn't have been too much effort to burry a few thousand carparks below the new innovation hub and surrounding grounds. T...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Compared to other cities around the world, our trains are slow to accelerate. Is there a reason for this? Could the 4000 class trains accelerate faster? Electrics accelerate and decelerate faster than diesels. In fact they probably outperform the diesels in every aspect. Except diesel consumption. ...

How can anyone living within 100m of South Road seriously still be surprised when their house has been nominated for compulsory acquisition?

[PRO] Re: Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road Upgrade

The roundabout at Port Road and the 2+1 to the north was completed in around 2016. While I know that further upgrades of South Rd are needed, why are sections that have been so recently upgraded being reworked? It screams of poor planning and reminds me of Oaklands Station, and I can see it currentl...

Hang on is the indigenous museum already starting? Looks like they're digging out basement structure. Correct. The big hole is the former basement of one of the buildings that has been demolished. One of the excavators in the hole is jackhammering the concrete. I don't see much constructions happen...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

In 1975 SAR studied improvements to the existing alignment that would allow 160 km/h running over most of the route to Monarto and higher (although not 160 km/h) to Mount Barker. In summary, with upgrades to the existing route, ARS to Mount Barker Junction non-stop looks like it would take 25 minut...

Drive through of the site from Tuesday before lockdown. https://youtu.be/bEfz0wOI164 Half of the beams for the new overpass bridge are now in place. Bitumen had begun being laid on the overpass ramps. The new bridge over the Wakefield River is well underway. Access to Balaklava is now via the new ro...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

I'd argue that if you're going to spend the billions of dollars to build a half decent and efficient rail connection to Mt Barker, it would be worth having a second Mt Barker station in the vicinity of Heysen Boulevard to take in some of the new suburbia in the area. Saying that, I don't think a via...

Stage 2 of the Augusta Highway redevelopment means that between Adelaide and Port Augusta, the only town you will travel through will be Port Wakefield. Have they announced an actual scope for this? I know it included duplication from Port Wakefield to Lochiel, but will Lochiel be bypassed? It stil...
