[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

I guess this is what happens when the state locks down. Adelaide should never in the next half century have 40,000 capacity stadium. I've been to Suncorp Stadium several times to watch a Brisbane Roar game. That's a 50,000 capacity stadium with a 9,000 crowd. It's horrible. No atmosphere, no excite...

I think stage 2 memorial drive gets a pass mark, shame about Hindmarsh though
A pass for what?

Second rate tournaments of almost zero relevance?
We recently got an ATP tour event yes?
And a WTA event

[U/C] Re: Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)

Schnitz has reopened (at long last).

The Bavarian reopened for a few weeks but was closed again today - why would you pay $30 for a stale schnitzel with no chips when you can get a better schnitzel with chips for $13.95 a few doors down.

GU Film House in Hindley St has closed down (again)
For good or temp? I'm not surprised, they've only been doing weekend trading since the start of the year pre-COVID, also the film festival is now back at PalaceNova.
For good.

I wonder it Edge Church will be seeking to move back in

We've got experience with retractable sporting infrastructure.
Several English cricket grounds have had more success with retractable light towers than what we did.

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

The Bolivar Rd on ramp had it's speed limit increased from 70 km/h to 90 km/h. This makes more sense as 70 always felt painfully slow given the length of the on ramp. Hopefully they can bump up the speed limit for the last bit of the southbound stretch before the southern interchange - the change to...

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

For those interested, here are some updated daily traffic figures for the Northern Connector: Wingfield to Bolivar: 44,400 Bolivar to Waterloo Corner: 43,200 Waterloo Corner to Virginia: 35,700 Traffic has also reduced on the surrounding road network, except of course the Superway. Salisbury Highwa...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

One of the benefits of O-Bahn is that buses can leave the O-Bahn track and drive through the suburbs. People shouldn't need to drive to the O-Bahn when they should be able to get a bus to the O-Bahn and beyond. The issue then becomes a matter of convenience - do you wait 30 minutes for the bus at y...

Re: Petrol Station Owners

I believe Drakes is now fully independent and have their own distribution network and distribution centre in the northern suburbs. Romeo's has also now expanded to Sydney with a few stores, branded as Romeo's IGA. Drakes separated from Foodland last year. It has had its own cold warehouse (near Bev...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

Park and ride just pushes the traffic jam back into the suburbs. The area surrounding O-Bahn stops should be transit-oriented developments. This is expensive real estate and car parks are for inexpensive real estate! transforming it into a TOD wouldn't suddenly make everyone who currently uses Para...

That’s pretty disappointing hopefully another operator can take over.
Who would take over the site.

It's too close for Reading, too low brow and modern for Palace Nova, and I doubt Hoyts would be interested (though they're probably the best fit).

Re: Seaton Park Drive In

Gepps Cross pretty much relies on the trash and treasure market to keep afloat Actually I'd say that the weekly Gepps Cross Market (fruit and veg) brings more custom than the trash and treasure. Definately the case when I've been there in the last year or so. True - that was my bad. I lumped the tw...
