Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

With 2025 now here what new airlines or increases in frequencies do we all expect to happen or have heard this year?

Nothing special this year. We’re expecting Cathay to resume by the end of this year. That’s about it.

If Qantas restarted the international route that would be an added bonus ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

After so many years of neglecting an international flight out of Adelaide, the least Qantas could do is find a new route that isn't serviced by an established airline here.
Personally I hope they don't do the Singapore route but another route to Asia. Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Tokyo or Osaka. Something ...

LA style freeway cutting through suburbia here we come.
Have you actually been to LA mate? It's not even remotely like a US freeway. It's actually being done in about as unobtrusive manner as is practical

Note that Rex will be using Embraer E190's on Perth - Adelaide. They could probably fill 737's if they wanted to, but remember Rex tried running 737-Maxes on Mildura - Sunshine Coast, and see how that turned out for them.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

The B777-200 are the oldest planes in the Emirates fleet, approx 14-17 years old. Emirates have 60+ A350 on order, deliveries commencing later this year I believe. They also have orders for B787-10.

Both these planes are ideal to service Adelaide and I think it will not be too long down the ...

Pretty certain the columns are for the second office tower. Having undertaken structural design of other high-rise buildings myself previously, the size of ...

Bullett trains to Melbourne, including stations at an airport in the upper SE and at Melbourne Airport, are the best long term solution IMO.

My understanding is that the 2nd second building is at the design and planning stage with it being slated as 34-35 levels (similar floor plate). First 3 levels to essentially glass atrium type of design to allow for natural light requirements through to parliament house.

If this goes ahead, I ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

This is a worthy project no doubt but it's rolled out in the typical SA fashion of one project at a time with no long term planning.

If the corridor is going to be closed for 9 months why not do the overpass/underpass at Morphett Rd, Goodwood Rd (and potentially) Greenhill Rd at the same time ...

Aren't they going to put up a low to medium rise building there anyway, so if they are going to do that they may as well build a spectacular tally there instead, it's a prominent location to enhance our skyline, otherwise it's a wasted opportunity.

Do you find the current building going up to ...
