Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

The B777-200 are the oldest planes in the Emirates fleet, approx 14-17 years old. Emirates have 60+ A350 on order, deliveries commencing later this year I believe. They also have orders for B787-10. Both these planes are ideal to service Adelaide and I think it will not be too long down the track a...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

Do you think they are for this second tower? And if so will construction start quickly? I’m assuming they’ll have li is tenants for it Pretty certain the columns are for the second office tower. Having undertaken structural design of other high-rise buildings myself previously, the size of the colu...

Bullett trains to Melbourne, including stations at an airport in the upper SE and at Melbourne Airport, are the best long term solution IMO.

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

My understanding is that the 2nd second building is at the design and planning stage with it being slated as 34-35 levels (similar floor plate). First 3 levels to essentially glass atrium type of design to allow for natural light requirements through to parliament house. If this goes ahead, I think...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

This is a worthy project no doubt but it's rolled out in the typical SA fashion of one project at a time with no long term planning. If the corridor is going to be closed for 9 months why not do the overpass/underpass at Morphett Rd, Goodwood Rd (and potentially) Greenhill Rd at the same time??? But...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

Aren't they going to put up a low to medium rise building there anyway, so if they are going to do that they may as well build a spectacular tally there instead, it's a prominent location to enhance our skyline, otherwise it's a wasted opportunity. Do you find the current building going up to be sp...

Lol the rest of King William is certainly not “dilapidated.” It is. Walk down any main street of a capital city in Australia. KW is the most run down of any. Can you name the main streets of the capitals? How many of them have you walked down? St Georges Tce, Perth - Far more impressive, Collins St...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

It actually works and looks great through there-a vast improvement to the suburbs it goes through. That's subjective and I tend to disagree. The only reason the giant trench improved the T2T area is because so many South Road fronting properties had been compulsory purchased and lay deralict for ye...

A cynic may draw the conclusion that a decision to scrap the tunnels has already been made within the ALP, and now its a matter of conditioning the public before announcing it at the least unpalatable time... Kouts was very definitive when those renders were leaked by the Ragtiser - that they did no...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

And once again the stop start non planning of this project has left the state wide open to the whims of various federal governments. I still strongly believe the whole tunnel thing was primarily to allow the previous gov to just kick the can down the road and delay the start of a this most difficul...

Yes, the SE freeway meant to tie into the eastern freeway.
Yeah from my hazy memory the route connecting SEF and Eastern fwy, was via Brownhill creek valley. It did not use the Mt Barker Rd corridor west of Crafers

Walker still pushing for a second tower: https://indaily.com.au/news/2022/09/16/fresh-opportunity-second-tower-flagged-for-festival-plaza/ If the second tower is taller then the other tower, then I'll support it. 100% 👍. It needs to be 150m+ and sleek, ideally 200m, not another massive sq box. And ...

Rollercoaster Freeway.
Speaking of the rollercoaster effect. Anyone got an insights on how the section between southern end of T2T and West Thebarton Rd will be achieved. The area where the Taylor Bridge is looks way too narrow to accomodate an at grade solution surely?

Here's a wild idea..why not connect the obahn with short tunnels here and there in the busiest parts of the city? We know it's possible to send the obahn into a tunnel since we have a tunnel for the obahn.. Grenfell street...instead of a huge amount of buses on the surface, why not move most them u...
