[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

A mild attempt at sarcasm but like Burnside we were all hoping things would improve (then cue these sad looking trees) but actually kept getting worse… but hey, I agree, let’s hold out for hope til the very end.

Yes that reminds me exactly what they said about the tree inside Burnside village!

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Not sure how Adelaide can be a fuel stop if flight is only coming from Melbourne?

Unbelievable.. this is getting beyond a joke now.
Maybe the architects brief was for trees that never drop leaves. So they said, ok here you go.

[PRO] Re: Hindmarsh Stadium Upgrade

I am curious to see the crowds and support this season for the A-league with no Foxtel and subscription needed with Paramount Plus [ch. 10 is doing one free to air game a week] to view it. Considering the season start is only a few weeks away, I have not seen much media reporting or publicity as pre...

Re: New City Arena

I know it’s not a question of choosing one or the other. That’s what I am saying, if the Libs just fixed both issues they then couldn’t be criticised by Labor about overlooking health.

Re: New City Arena

Not sure why the Libs don’t just propose to build a new stadium and fix the health system. Surely it’s possible to try to do both financially?

[APP] Re: 88 O'Connell Street | 63m | 13, 13 and 15 Levels | Mixed Use

The real issue was the preferred outcome was a train underpass which was costed at a massive $450m [vs an overpass at $290m]. The original budget was $171m [ie. So a $120m blow out if an overpass and a $280m blowout if an underpass] which the Federal Govt wasn't willing to contribute to, therefore t...

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

Hopefully these traffic lights are an interim measure and an overpass gets built in the [near] future. However very frustrating considering the billions we have/are spending along the route. Possibly they are waiting for the suburb to achieve critical mass and/or after the State Govt has made enough...

Someone suggested on radio [to keep everyone happy], they just need to build a hill and relocate the scoreboard on TOP of any new Northern grandstand.

Maybe they could re-plant the olive grove on the roof top or around the new W&C or even move it to the new Urrbrae Gatehouse location. Then they could heritage list it and release a limited edition extra olive oil from it every year to pay for it..

I think the last approval was 57m high [the Sheraton Hotel etc] and I don't remember any court action threatened/taken over that. I know a sales display was to be built/opened soon, so I wonder if this will stop the developer attempting off the plan sales until this is resolved [even though they do ...

Maybe Bob if you can detail your alternative suggestion [ie a contemporary art gallery or whatever you think] so the forum can assess the merits of your proposal? So your thoughts on build cost, to buy "content", expected visitation numbers, your projected profit/return on investment etc. ...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

While I understand/agree with the points mentioned, MONA has been funded/owned by an extremely wealthy individual [some $300m+ spent years ago, so maybe equivalent to $1b today]. Maybe the discussion should be if our Govt should go out and buy/compete for [with taxpayers money] quality Art where jus...

I am thinking medicine as it’s near the big new bio-medical hub. This new building and great CBD location would certainly help also to attract the big paying international students (or their parents). Is medicine also the most “in demand” degree? As I always remember it’s ATAR being ridiculously hig...
