[PRO] Re: 156-172 Franklin Street, Adelaide | ~56m | 16 levels | Loft apartments

This is going to the DAC on Thursday and expected to be approved. 53m Another average design which is consistent with this whole “precinct”. Looks like Penny place with a bit of extra glass on the western side. Very underwhelming and a disaster from a cohesive design point of view IMO. Interestingl...

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

A few thoughts here. I tend to agree with several of the sentiments already expressed. As sexy as the concept of a shiny new inner-city stadium is, the cold hard truth is that the potential occupants would need to be demanding it. The Adelaide Oval redevelopment succeeded in large part due to the f...

I won't deny it - those escalators look hideous and spoil the whole look.
Not sure why they couldn't have incorporated escalators into the Casino from the station tunnel... And then left the stairs the way they are.

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

I guess this is what happens when the state locks down. Adelaide should never in the next half century have 40,000 capacity stadium. I've been to Suncorp Stadium several times to watch a Brisbane Roar game. That's a 50,000 capacity stadium with a 9,000 crowd. It's horrible. No atmosphere, no excite...

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

There are some people on this forum that like second rate. They aren’t interested in aiming for the best and looking into the future. Soccer (football) is a world game and FIFA is the governing body if and I say IF we want the best then we need to go by those rules. Forget what the FFA does or does...

The amended plans are expected to be approved Thursday. Looks like this now includes a 2 level supermarket. Perhaps the Woolworths relocation that had previously been rumored? Only other option would be an Aldi. I think the new plans look good. https://www.saplanningcommission.sa.gov.au/__data/asse...

Re: Crane Counter: CBD 8 | Metro 3 | Total 11

The crane at 102-120 Wakefield St is being used to replace the screens on the car park levels on the east side. The old screens just had vertical bars and the new screens have a pattern of circular holes cut in one piece of metal. I'm pretty certain that clad has always been there... The cranes are...

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

Fellas one important point about a soccer stadium. If we want a FIFA sanctioned stadium capable of attracting any World Cup matches (men or women) the stadium has to be 40,000 seat and covered. Anything less will always be a backyard stadium. Both Liberal and Labour need to acknowledge this. Please...

Finally had a look through the devapp documents for the Walker tower, and found another little easter egg that seems to confirm the government's intention for a concert hall at AFC: Screen Shot 2020-11-16 at 10.49.13 am.png This follows from the St Peter's Cathedral vision that accidentally leaked ...

Anyway back to this development. The Market pharmacy has closed and relocated across the road on Gouger. The Honey Shoppe has relocated and opened in the mall linking the markets to china town. Pretty sure Skala bakery has relocated too; saw their stall in the market proper, but didn't go through t...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

More plane trees?! Are they not capable of planting anything else? They've literally removed proposed jacarandas in favour of more plane trees. And so begins the dumbing down and cost saving of this project, an already bland office tower and retail building is set to become even more bland. And how ...

Is there going to be anything in that tunnel? Retail space. That's optimistic for any business that sets up there considering on weekdays there probably won't be much foot traffic going that way. There in lies the problem with this whole area. They're trying to emulate what has been successfully ac...

That looks very silly and I'm sure there will be lots of complaining voices.

Which means it's perfect. :D

New additional to the mall.
