[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Just an observation - the new underground carpark entry off King William is a bit of an eyesore. Hopefully completion of the project can nullify this a bit. It's also a dogs breakfast whenever the carpark is at near capacity, which it has been quite a few times since opening, very congested at the ...

New render for this posted by Howie on the FB page.

Looks stunning, surprisingly similar to the Sofitel build. However, if this does get up, I'll reserve judgement until it's complete; the budget outlined still concerns me.

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

The proposal to change part of the building to an educational establishment has approval from Heritage South Australia. https://plan.sa.gov.au/development_application_register#view-21020053-DAP I'm guessing this isn't the end of it... how many approvals would one development get? I wonder how much ...

Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

Secondly, unproven but speculative, the AFL would probably prefer their main product of the year be telecast from a completed stadium, not an incomplete stadium. You're absolutely right, that is merely speculative and it's rubbish. If it wasn't to do with capacity issues, it would likely have more ...

Christopher Pyne: Move the scoreboard, flatten the hill and build a new grandstand to turn Adelaide Oval into a true stadium Christopher Pyne reckons Adelaide Oval will never host the AFL grand final ... unless we plug its “gaping hole” with a new northern grandstand. He even has a name in mind. Ch...

Re: [VIS] New Concert Hall

The casino expansion already pinched awkwardly close to the Dunstan Playhouse, and this concept would crowd the area considerably more. There's no good reason for trying to wedge it in the middle of the Festival Centre. Wait, so what you're saying is that they shouldn't build a live entertainment v...

Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

This is such a dead/boring discussion. Really don’t understand why it pops up so often. This has been thrashed out previously when I raised this a year or so ago and most people on this forum still didn’t get it even when the facts were laid bare, and the discussion thread become offensive and aggr...

[VIS] Re: Adelaide Baseball Stadium

I think there's already a thread for this under Metro Development. Anyway, glad to see this mooted. The situation of Adelaide Giants Norwood Oval was kind of shit, I realise Norwood has been the home for baseball in Adelaide for years but having a purpose build facility for any code of sport shows a...

One of the banks has taken up space in this building with naming rights. Unsure of which one at this stage. The only one I could suggest is AMP who are currently in a tiny building on Hindmarsh Square opposite Channel Nine or Bank of Queensland... Otherwise, Westpac have too good of a deal at Westp...

Sorry to bump this read with speculation, but I wonder if it is this site for sale: https://www.commercialrealestate.com.au/property/unley-sa-5061-2017179655 Wouldn't surprise me... Pretty flippant business case to include a cinema as the main drawcard of this development when you consider the prox...

View from Kintore Ave/ North Tce on Tuesday 17/8/3021. Now at level 30.
Crane rise expected in the next few days, looks as though they are putting in two additional pieces to the crane so I'd expect a 20m jump on what's there.

[PRO] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

I'm not in favour of the carpark but for different reasons, I think it shows lazy planning if they have to expand further onto public land to cater for this rather than consolidate and use every square inch possible on the existing site of the N-W&CH site. Furthermore, I'm more concerned about t...
