Re: Port Adelaide | Developments & News
The larger vessel, the Dolphin Explorer remains and will keep the people coming to the Port - Port Princess was just one of the two cruises available.Shame. It wasn't exactly a beautiful cruise, but it was a fun and relatively cheap outing that brought a lot of people into Port Adelaide.

[COM] Re: UniSA - Centre for Cancer Biology | 72m | $220 million
It's meant to be taller than it's neighbour, but looks shorter. Just an optical illusion? There are less floors and it is further down the hill so it loses height in that respect. The poles that protrude above roof level artificially extend the height of the building. It looks quite a bit shorter f...

Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
Looks like there's some work being done to the main UniSA building on North Terrace (Yungondi? The one with the big logo above the door anyways). All of the ground floor windows have been removed and there's some hoarding going up. I wonder if they're planning some street-level activation of sorts?...

Not replacing any time soon given they are spending 5 million refurbishing the Yungondi building on North Terrace http://unisa.edu.au/yungondi

Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
Its all personal opinion. In my opinion the cream/white and dark gray are miles better but the decision to not paint over the terracotta tiles let's the whole thing down in my book. The grout between the tiles is showing its age. Hoping it's not finished.

Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
I was under the impression that they were keeping the facade of the new Q Night Club premises on Hindley in tact. Not so. The whole thing is a pile of rubble this morning.

Possibly the vacant shopfront between Grand Chancellor and Club X which has been empty for as long as I can remember - some action happening there the other day when I walked past.Norman wrote:Not sure where this is supposed to go, but Lord of the Fries is opening soon in Hindley Street.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Hungry Jacks in City X boarded up today.
Not sure if it's a closure or a refit, no signage that I saw to suggest it is reopening.

https://youtu.be/6OwNfvlbYfE - at about 10.20 in this video they do say it will have Morphett Street access but you are right, it isn't there yet!

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
Greater Union Film House (re)opens on Wednesday September 21. Seems they are going for a low key launch and from the looks of Hindley Street they've done absolutely nothing to improve its entry. Hope they know what they're doing!

Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
There's no crane base on site. Maybe the council might be making some changes to the slippery pavers. what slippery pavers? Council recently spent millions ripping them up to lay down nice smooth non-slip asphalt so they could return the speed limit back to 50  Did they actually come up? I do...

Ice just closed down at Arndale too so probably a larger issue with the brand.

Yes there will be a Morphett Street entrance.Phantom wrote:Is it planned for the building to abut the bridge, or will there be a gap between the two? If it does connect, will there be any form of entrance along the bridge to the 2nd/3rd floor?

Looks like the rainbow walk in Light Square is currently being installed - all fenced off and grass has been removed, trench dug for paving.
