Probably a dumb question but I assume ramp metering is the traffic lights that change quickly to moderate the flow of traffic coming onto the freeway? I've seen a fair few of them in Melbourne. They work really well.
You are correct.

Also didn't Air Asia fly to Adelaide pre covid?

It's good news though, Jetstar currently have the monopoly with flights to Bali. Hopefully Virgin will recommence flights soon.

Would be great if Thai Airlines was the next airline to come here.
Still wishing for Cathay..

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Well would you look at that; we're getting those USA flights.

United will fly from San Francisco to Adelaide
As of December 11, 2025, United will add 3x weekly flights between San Francisco (SFO) and Adelaide (ADL), on a seasonal basis. The new 8,070-mile flight will operate with the following ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Adelaide Airport appears to have a new carpark, based on their parking booking engine. P2 behind the covered carpark (which I guess is P1 now).

[U/C] Re: PRO: Marion Road Level Crossing Removal Project | $200m

I've heard from two separate sources that the grade separation at the Morphett Rd crossing is a reasonable chance of going ahead. Apparently the high voltage overhead cables and the need to place these underground is one of the key things that could determine if the grade separation happens or not ...

I understand why there's not a ramp at Flaxmill Road, and there is nothing significant in that area except the former CFS and St John stations (now moved to Beach Road for closer expressway access).

But it always bothered me that Flaxmill Road is such a great standard of road, entirely 2+2 lanes ...

Buried in the additional Program scope is creating a four way intersection between Grange Road, East Terrace and Holbrooks Road, to increase capacity during construction, which is long overdue.

Regarding Elder Smith Rd, who came up with the genius idea to make the bridge one lane only? During the rail closure, it sometimes took 10-15 minutes to get from the interchange to Salisbury Hwy.

Are there any other cities on earth with such narrow minded 'insights'?

It would've saved more money ...

[U/C] Re: Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road Upg

At one stage I also felt that this direct route would be the best way to go but have since been convinced otherwise. I believe they would be unlikely to build a new section of road where Victor Harbor Rd would get the majority of benefit over Main South Rd especially considering south of where ...
