[U/C] Re: New Adelaide Aquatic Centre | $135M

I understand the heating and cooling issues but in my opinion I would have loved it if they had completely refurbished the pool area and the outside gardens and then rebuilt the front section of the centre with a new reception and changing areas. The indoor/outdoor nature of the centre when all of t...

Pretty sad to see - my kids have had some great times there and the building itself was pretty unique in my opinion.

[VIS] Re: Gifford Hill City ($7.5bn)

Calling it a satellite city is a bit of a stretch, considering it butts right up to Murray Bridge. Surely in reality this is just an extension of Murray Bridge?

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network

I also had the conversion to fibre to the home a couple of months ago and had a similar experience - although we were already on fibre to the curb so there was no surprise that the extension needed was just a short one. We had already left a spare conduit in place from when we had our electricity su...

[U/C] Re: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Extension)

Looks like were slowly removing the english language. Just an observation on this note without wanting to wade too deeply into the arguments for or against but I did note on a recent visit that all naming signage for the existing Women's and Children's hospital is now primarily in Kuarna (Ngangkiku...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

A few (presumably new) quotes from Kouts following the $10M budget announcement. Adelaide is growing beyond its limits — so could a train revival help steam the city's expansion? In short: The SA and federal governments have commissioned a $10 million study to look at what rail lines could be built ...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

There's probably an argument that an "express" can still stop at one or two key stops (say Croydon, or maybe Bowden given its access to Entertainment Centre and Coopers Stadium) without compromising the travel time much. Stopping the express trains at Bowden gives savvy people the chance ...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

So effectively the existing Outer Harbour service becomes the Port Dock service (every half an hour, but alternating with the Grange line so effectively 15mins between trains between Adelaide & Woodville), and then Outer Habour gets replaced by a new express service? That's how I read it - so n...
