[PRO] Re: 62-68 Main North Road | 7 Levels | Motel/Apartments

Awesome spot prime location, double glase the windows no traffic noise problems, its just city living. Looking forward to this development, Prospect is rocking. I agree, scotty's has been there forever and a day. Clearly customers dont find the location that bad. It is a fairly large site, only the...

but I can't help but feel the loss of this lane is a show for communication breaking down between the state government and ACC. You lost me there. The lane closure i assume is because the new "main" entrance to the convention center is on that side. It is now a set down zone for taxi and ...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

I can only find a summary - have you managed to find any details about what was done back in 2005 - what the former use of the site was, what the source and extent of contamination was, what remedial action was taken etc? Would be interesting to know. I love that others are now interested in this a...

What is up with the land at 84 south road between Grange and torrens river? Ok let me answer myself. According to this http://www.cordellconnect.com.au/public/project/ProjectDetails.aspx?uid=546165 It was a Nursing Home called Linsell Lodge, another place with the same name is run by the salvation ...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

What is up with the land at 84 south road between Grange and torrens river? For as long as i have known it has been a vacant lot with an out of place brick fence and large sunken section of the large vacant site. They are currently digging it out to a fair deep depth. Maybe as deep as the lowered mo...

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network

I'm also surprised there is enough HFC rolled out to support anywhere near 30% of potential NBN customers. Perhaps I am demonstrating my parochial suburban Adelaide view of Australia where Foxtel customers have a wok on the roof, not a cable. Foxtels cable network in Adelaide is fairly vast in area...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

Last I read it is likely -up and over the torrens river (not sure about incline for ditch to elevated to ditch) -down into ditch past brickworks -tunnel(s) due to heritage buildings and tight space for henley beach and sir donald bradman -ditch to anzac -elevated due to contaminated soils past castl...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I like the idea of trams to Prospect but not sure the road is wide enough to do it. Prospect Road has momentum and potential to be as good as The Parade. I think a tram linking Adelaide, North Adelaide and Prospect would be a huge boom. But Prospect Road was just never built wide enough to handle it...

I thought this is all depending on the torrens to torrens project.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

If this is true then why didn't the SA Government ever consider doing this?. I assume money prevented it. If there is now(or will be) money to spend on trains you need reason to spend money to upgrade the line to electric over just sticking with diesel. There is likely lots of reason but some that ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Feds have stumped up for it. DPTI have just been sitting on it. I thought the money was deferred by a year or so in the last federal budget? But either way the State Government should make a firm decision and get whatever they decide shovel-ready for when the funds become available... You wouldnt w...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Plus, how come in Melbourne their aging trams accelerate so quickly that they virtually throw you from your feet when they pull away from a standstill and seem to get right up to 50kph even in a very short run between blocks Sounds like one of the most horrible experiences possible. Maybe that is w...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

There are however benefits of going electric.. - Electric trains are permanently coupled with three carriages, compared to diesel trains which usually range from one to three carriages (four max) - There is complete access throughout the electric train, which can better spread congestion in peak in...

[COM] Re: PRO: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

What major difference will it make, instead of driving down Kings road and turning left onto Bolivar road? You are going to save 15 seconds? The Kings/Bolivar intersection already struggles to function in peak. The vast majority of traffic is Kings Rd to/from Port Wakefield Rd. It is just a pointle...
