[COM] Re: Currie/Rosina St | 110m | 32lvl | Sofitel

Regarding the height increase it's probably only a couple of metres. Suspect you're right but hopefully not. From memory the top 5-10 floors were going to be residential? They could probably double the residential component and still easily sell out. Having observed it inerstate, the prospect of li...

Hopefully they are seeking some inspiration from the building in the Melbourne picture. Would have to agree, those two blank walls on the render are not a good look. We should be aiming for a much better class of building than that.

Nothing is wrong with brutalism- in moderation. When it dominates as much as it does in Canberra though it is bloody awful.

although referring to Canberra and architecture/entertainment in the same sentence is a bit of an oxymoron. The Nishi Building / Hotel Hotel , which won World Interior of the Year and International Project of the Year , begs to differ. As do new and old parliament houses, but they are all too few i...

[COM] Re: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | $300m

Can't happen soon enough. Adelaide Casino is by far the worst in Australia, and is an embarrassment in its current form. As for location however, it could be one of the best. Walking distance to everything adelaide has to offer. In Adelaide's defence Canberra casino is pretty horrible, although ref...

Doesn't look too bad at all in that light, nice photo! Agree that the North and South sides look a little plain, but sure beats an entirely windowless wall.

With any luck they will soon bash down the monstrosities directly to the right in this photo and build up the area a little more.

Hi all, great forum you got here. So far have thought this building looks a bit average up close, but after today I think it looks great from a distance. I saw it this morning from the bottom of the freeway driving back in to the city (couldn't stop to take a photo unfortunately ). It looked very pr...
