Re: The Housing Crisis
This makes for some pretty dire reading, S.A's housing affordability is the worst it's ever been. Remembering that affordability is rated on average earnings and pricing, not by outright property values. From realestate.com.au today.... SA’s housing unaffordability laid bare in damning new report T...

Re: The SA Politics Thread
Just on SA Politics Do we think we will ever get an LNP win again or are we ultimately waiting for the Greens to be the 2nd main party ? The way both major parties are going, that's possible. However, if the Libs go down, it's likely that a more moderate centre right party will start to replace the...

Re: Beer Garden
Really sad to see what's happened to Melbourne. Used to love visiting there, but it just seems like their CBD never bounced back from Covid the same way other cities have.
As for the protests, violence is never okay, and deliberately harming horse is animal abuse. These people should be locked up.

Re: The Housing Crisis
Affordability fears as Adelaide houses become more expensive than Melbourne A new record for median Adelaide house prices has raised fears that home ownership is now out of reach for many South Australians. Both the Property Council of Australia and Shelter SA have renewed calls for action on housi...

Not abandoned, but significantly delayed for no real reason other than Malaka's political point-scoring.
A real kick in the teeth during a housing crisis.

[COM] Re: 145-159 King William Street (GPO) | 61m | 16 Levels | Hotel
So what happens to the old GPO now and the broken clock? The site offices and lunchrooms/bathrooms for the construction site were inside the GPO building. With the hotel now open I'd expect that these are now all being removed and that restoration of the GPO building would be beginning soon. Very g...

Had to go along the freeway this morning for a work meeting going the opposite direction in peak hour. My God, I could not believe how backed up it gets. All 3 lanes were a parking lot between Ashwin Parade and the Outer Harbor train line bridge in the morning. And in the evening, it was backed up ...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
it is much cheaper to build than underground rail, and achieves perfectly good outcomes, but realistically there would be a lot of opposition from inner West NIMBYs. As a resident of the inner west I find this comment quite amusing. A lot of the push back on plans like this comes from the chronic l...

Interestingly, SkyCity are going to reopen their North Terrace entrance from today. This was closed only a few months ago to coincide with the station lane redevelopment and the reopening of their heritage entrance. There will now be three entrances to the casino - North Tce, heritage and promenade....
