[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

Stop encouraging people to move to Mount Barker and build housing around the existing underused stations. There's plenty of land around the Gawler line that's vacant and could be used for housing.

Re: Storm drain issues

There are places in Adelaide where they pump stormwater into aquifers. It could be expanded. This PDF goes into detail where and what they are doing at the moment. https://www.waterconnect.sa.gov.au/Cont ... _Final.pdf

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Compared to other cities around the world, our trains are slow to accelerate. Is there a reason for this? Could the 4000 class trains accelerate faster?

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

We need an electricity interconnector to Perth. That would be shorter than the Sun Cable and it would enable us to use solar power from WA an hour or two after our sunset.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Here is a suggestion for part of SA to put in the parklands: a miniature Wilpena Pound. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3f/Wilpenapoundfromspacewithnotes.jpg Not only will it be an attraction, it could be set up as an actual amphitheatre. This gives us another stadium in Adelaide. A...

I'd personally love to see the uniqueness of the parklands embraced by bringing samples of things from around the state into them.
This is a great idea! The aboriginal art centre in Lot 14 could be incorporated into this too.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

It would be interesting to know how many votes overall come from businesses and how many come from people who live in the CBD. If it's mostly businesses voting, then Team Adelaide won't be dislodged.

Re: Re-Imagining the Adelaide Bus Network

Good work! I think for 410, 412 and 414 buses should use the North-South Motorway then continue onto the bus lanes on Port Road. I'm not usually a fan of park-and-rides, but a big park-and-ride near the roundabout on Bolivar Road near the motorway would attract a lot of users. That way it's only 25...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

In 2019 ARENA (Australian Renewable Energy Agency) were due to fund a pumped hydro project in South Australia. There were 4 different applicants who applied for start up funding to get their project off their ground. ARENA never announced any funding, the cost of large scale batteries kept falling ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Are the closures due to work in Adelaide Yard? If so, they should electrify that part of Outer Harbor so they don't have to shut the whole thing down again when they electrify Outer Harbor. I'm not betting on it...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Have they laid gauge convertible sleepers to Gawler? If so, then almost the whole network has gauge convertible sleepers. This should be the next project for Adelaide Metro trains. It gives no quick benefits, but will save us from problems in the future. What future problems are you envisioning? Wh...

Re: PRO: Magill Road precinct

This project is only the last kilometre of Magill Rd, so if a tramway is built and there's a bit of street running in traffic, it's not a problem. Also, this project seems cheap at $2 million if that covers all they say they will do. This was the proposed tram route by Weatherill. https://en.wikiped...

Re: PRO: Magill Road precinct

If you want to attract artists, you need trams. Extending the botanic gardens tram along Magill Road makes a lot of sense. Unlike the plans to extend it along the Parade, with Magill Road you don't have any corners, so the tram is faster and easier to construct.
