Developments rarely look in the end like any of their renders promised, and this project will be no exception…

The main tower is as wide as the renders indicate, I don’t think there are any surprises re its north face or south face width. It was always in the renders shown as a predominantly west oriented structure….with the lower levels facing east having any views obstructed by the Hilton….

Ben is right, so many false starts with this vision, and the new timeline proposed for such a project is awfully short and tight (“the hotel could welcome guests by late 2026 or early 2027”) so we will all have to wait and see regarding how the approval process will unfold, and then if indeed soil ...

There is a second crane being erected at the QEH; I think it’s time Ben to do an updated cranes list as they seem to be popping up everywhere now, especially across the metro area…

All existing buildings at the QEH are still functional…this development involves the construction of a much bigger new ED, new operating theatres, a new ICU plus many other things in the new building being built. The existing ED is very small and dated and in an awkward corner of the existing QEH ...

View from Pulteney/North Tce intersection:

Driving east along North Tce and the Switch is looking surprisingly inoffensive, if a little bit interesting, with the shadowing cast by the fins on the west face…I don’t hate it….

So given the new crane at 270 Pulteney St, should the crane total revert back to 8+3 = 11 cranes?

Walking the dogs at Glenelg today, noticed the site is now surrounded by construction fencing…does anyone know a status for this one? Is demolition imminent?
