if Adelaide CBD is full of low cost high-rise apartment housing it will turn into a shithole. mark my words
it doesn't have the business/financial district of larger cities in Australia, it will just be poorer people packed into a tight space

Apparently the developer behind this has plans ready for another apartment block to be called 'Casa' at corner of Parade and Sydenham (old Beaumont Tiles). https://curatedcapital.com.au/portfolio/45-the-parade/ https://www.adelaidenow.com.au/business/orta-apartments-tops-out-as-developers-start-pla...

We should all consider that the steel work is still in red rust prevention primer and so we should wait until construction is complete before making a final assement of project. As for the extension of the tram/ light rail, the Adelaide City council made the assumption that the Torrens River bridge...

Like I originally sid I hope street activation brings this to life. Light rail is so overdue for here and the city loop. Itd really bring Nth Adl into the CBD and connect them. light rail doesn't do much for KW Street South... its a ghost town there Do you remember Adelaide south of Victoria Square...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy
Has anyone been to these interactive sessions they have been holding in various places about the transport plan? Some kind of VR thing where you can look at the ‘Adelaide of the Future’ or something like that. The pictures on DIT’s website, which I can only assume come from the VR ‘experience’ show...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council
ACC Councillor Henry Davis had to be suspended from a recent council meeting when the Hutt Street upgrade was being discussed. As is predictable in Adelaide's Big Country Town Mentality, it is unfortunately going to be a clash of ideals (pro-car vs pro-pedestrian) rather than facts or proven scienc...

Re: Thebarton Brewery Site Redevelopment
rather boring outcome compared to the artists visions provided earlier missed opportunity for an interesting site location Were those even official, or mock ups by a private consortium? Frankly, with the literal snail's pace that Bowden has gone up over the last 13 years (and still incomplete), the...
