Re: #UC: 5 lvl Car Park & Pedestrian Plaza - Adelaide Airpor

Any updates on the operation/efficiency/functionality of the new pick-up/drop-off area? I've heard unconfirmed reports that it's still "chaos", etc, but I'm not inclined to believe anything until I hear from my trusty S-A colleagues. :) Have been a few time to pick up people, if you park on level 2...

[COM] Re: U/C: Rundle Place Ben/Adel Bank, Harris Scarfe, Coles 76

Disappointed the Rundle Mall facade is so dull and uninspiring. Will there be at least a canopy to protect people from sun and rain? Haven't seen the plans. Cheers I completely agree, although i always like to hold judgement until it is complete, it doesnt look good at this stage. Anything from her...

[COM] Re: APP: 122 Grenfell Street | 58m | 17 Levels | Hotel

Approval for demolition of the building has not been granted as yet. Thanks for clarification, if thats the case, then this should be part of the approval process, however if it had been approved for demo, then let it be demo'd. Im aware that it doesnt need to be demo'd for the hotel, but that is t...

[COM] Re: APP: 122 Grenfell Street | 58m | 17 Levels | Hotel

No wonder people demolish things in the middle of the night without approval. Its rubbish listings etc like this that encourages it. As far as im aware (correct me if im wrong) this has been approved for demolition and the hotel approved for construction (I am aware that this is the adjoining site)....

[COM] Re: #APP: Torrens Footbridge (Festival Centre to Adelaide Ov

From The Messenger: Cr Anne Moran said if the State Government or Stadium Management Authority controlled the bridge she feared it would become too sport-orientated. "It will be painted Crows colours on one side and Port on the other," she said. "Us keeping it doesn't give us total control but it g...

http://dpti.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/image/0010/81883/birds-eye.jpg I wasnt expecting it to be curved, I like it, however having seen this, i wish it would continue back across the lake toward the rotunda and form a semi-circle in plan which could then promote the upgrade of the torrens and a really...

[ONH] Re: #COM: Burnside Village Redevelopment - $107 million

As time passes, public transport improves along with public attitude I think more people will be happy to pt it to shopping destinations especially so for recreational shopping, fashion and cafe and restaurant culture (the later I would argue to be a more essential component for future survival and...

Re: #Transport Projects

Basically yes although it is a fine balance. The idea is not to screw vehicle movements but to free up P/T. If it ends up being quicker to catch P/T into the city than to drive that will change commuters attitutudes. I see your point, and the overall goal is ideal, however I feel that the best way ...

Re: #U/C: Darwin Waterfront Redevelopment

As I understand it, the first stage was completed a couple of years ago and includes the convention centre, the carpark tower, hotel, and the first couple of apartment towers, and the landscaped lawns, sea wall and wavepool. It only really seems busy during peak tourism season (mid year dry season)....

Re: #Transport Projects

Great idea, long overdue, glad to see Adelaide actually moving with the times. I never use P/T that use Grenfell St but this should be a first step. More bus lanes in the city and connecting them out to suburbs is a must. For those drivers stuck in gridlock, go a different way or better still catch...

Re: #Transport Projects

That flyover is a joke!! Not one red light to completely disrupt the traffic flow, almost as many buses as cars, when in reality it would be the inside car lane at a standstill, and a couple of buses moving on the outside lane. Sure you might theoretically save 3 minutes (wow), but have they taken i...

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of suburban rail networ

I dont know why the DPTI dont put either plants/trees or advertising spaces on the city's new train stations. I know that there were alot more trees around Elizabeth South which were removed prior to the upgrade of the station. I think it may have been for visual security. Hopefully they wil...

I took some interstate visitors and their children to the zoo a couple of weeks ago... The thought that kept going through my mind the entire time was, 'no wonder this place is going bust'. I am all for supporting the zoo and the conservation work they do, however i was most disappointed with the zo...
