Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
If anyone knows have petrol stations always been able to trade 24/7 (or when did this come in) and so be excluded from the normal regulations/opening hours of say a supermarket, deli etc?

[APP] Re: 52-66 King William Street | ~65m | 15 Levels | Southern Cross Arcade
While I agree I would have loved to see this 3x higher, the floor plates are massive, some 3000-4000 sqm per floor (4,000 sqm is an acre). So the trade off could have been a tall slender tower 3 x taller but with say 1,000 sq m floor plates or of course they go 3x higher with the risk the building b...

I heard there may be a delay with the opening caused by problems of getting hotel furniture out of China. Their website says rooms are not available until 2 November...

[COM] Re: Oaklands Crossing | $174m
There is quite a bit of temporary fencing around properties to be demolished/land to be cleared from the Oaklands crossing continuing on Diagonal Rd to opp. the Aquatic Centre/Westfield Marion. Anyone know what the plan is? Or if its just going to be a wider, better lit path with landscaping etc?

I don’t quite understand the argument as what is to say there wont be 1000 or more highly paid, well educated employees just working for other companies in Lot 14 anyway?

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)
Gnrc, I think all the things you mention [as you probably agree] are already established and have infrastructure in place to already grow employment from [be it Roseworthy/all the Unis/Tonsley etc] plus the international hospitality/Le Cordon Bleu school is coming to lot 14 from Tafe. The thing is L...

Gnrc, that may [or may not?] be right but I am just curious to know what other industries you think are more likely to take off that you refer to?

There was also extra funding for new escalators, not sure if they are going here or just further up on the next level.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway
Im wondering if they are stretching it out because of funding? I know the Fed Govt committed $5b but if the total estimate is $11b (seemingly ridiculously high), are they stalling until they can afford it? I mean they have also committed to other big billion dollar projects like the New W&C so how m...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
When the State Admin buildings around Victoria Sq were put on the market years ago by the former Govt, I wondered if this new tower could have been their likely place to move into one day (as they did the deal with Walker also). Then the deal fell over with C&G. Do you think the current Govt would c...

Yes true but I think there could have been enough room to make it 3 lane service/interim road [esp if its for the next 2 years].

So South Rd will now go down to just 2 lanes (each way) using these service roads. So will this likely be the case until its all finished (in some 2 years)?
