[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

I've made a quick sketch of what south road should look like based on the current plan. It's on the assumption that all sections will be completed at ground level to prevent them being dug up for an adjoining section. Definitely a rollercoaster. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180510/4e50f7de4335...

. 7) Not an economic game changer but the proposed Glenthorne National Park and the opening up of reservoirs for recreational activities isn't a bad proposal. What exactly is the significance of Glenthorne? I live in Sheidow Park and cannot understand the massive objection to housing on some of the...

Re: Castle Plaza Shopping Centre Redevelopment

No demolition from the South Road frontage as of Sunday. Not sure about the rear of the site though.

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

I don't think any grade separation of South Road is needed until the Henley Beach Road tunnel. With land acquisition, they can make it much like the southbound lanes of the southern end of the superway - 3 freeway grade lanes, with a concrete barrier and then 1 or 2 surface lanes on the other side. ...

Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

Driving down South Road at any time during the day, I would say 70%+ of vehicles are private use. So you want to push these 70% into one lane, buses, which south of Anzac is only a few 7xx routes, not too sure of routes beyond, so maybe 30 buses per hour at most, and a number of taxis in the other l...

Re: Uber vs Taxi

Aside from the drivers, there are also jobs created in the support centre on Grote Street. I went in there the other day and there were a dozen or so employees on the floor. Plus more were most likely out the back. Now ridesharing may be competing with an existing service, but Ubereats (And also com...

[COM] [COM] Re: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $2.1b

I think a great new spot for the skate park would be opposite the NRAH in the parklands between West Terrace, Port Road and the service road that continues from Hindley Street. There is more than enough space to even increase the size from the former one, it's still close to trams and bus routes, no...

Re: News & Discussion: Metropolitan Developments

Is anything yet planned for the triangle between South, Sturt and the Flinders Drive extension, other than the rail extension? This would be a great location if the hospital staff parking were relocated/undergrounded. Public transport on the doorstep, and FMC a short walk away and Marion a quick bus...

Re: Seaford Homemaker Centre

Some buildings appear to already be completed on the corner opposite Bunning but I thought it was going to be the smallest homemaker centre around. Didn't realise the plans extended this far. Will be great for the area.

If we're dropping the Park, should we just rename it to Side?
Would Parkside become Sideside then?

The 's' has made its return to the sign. Wonder how many people proof read it and missed the mistake.

Sorry yes I meant South Road south of SExy will presumably continue as A13 while South Road's surface road will probably be A2 from there to the Northern Connector, with M2 from Old Noarlunga to the Northern end where it will change to M20.

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

Have noticed tonight that signs for South Road in the t2t area are getting the A13 changed to A2 to bring it in line with the M2 for the motorway. Roads I noticed the change on were Ashwin Parade and Hawker Street. Will be interesting to see if they alter all the way down to the Southern Expressway,...

I recall seeing (from early plans) that the Adam road turnoff was closed and it was 3 lanes through on each direction.
