Re: AFL Magic Round in Adelaide
Is it actually going to do well here? With the recent cricket numbers for the T20 world cup, the state government might be a little nervous particularly after Malinaskaus' comments about Sydney being unable to fill stadiums. The T20 world cup games here in Adelaide aren't being that well attended f...

Bit of activity on the site, sheet metal fence removed on western and southern side, replaced with temporary fencing. Temp fencing has been extended out half way across Norman Street.
Just looks like a general tidy up, a couple mini excavators working away, guessing the new owners are doing it.

[SWP] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 124m | 38 levels
Gosh I really hope this one hasn’t fallen through. Same - but surely not considering the apartments are almost entirely sold. Yeah, I would think it's unlikely this one will fall over due to that reason. It is odd though that no application for demolition has been lodged as yet, given the arcade wa...

The CommSec State of the States for September '22 quarter has been released. S.A is ranked 5th overall. S.A topped the country again for construction work and in a positive sign we ranked 3rd for population growth.... https://www.commsec.com.au/content/dam/EN/Campaigns_Native/stateofstates/October20...

I accept the desire to provide residential car parking, but 56 spaces for 27 apartments seems excessive. Even for family apartments, I don't see why it shouldn't just have one space each in the building and a small number of visitor parks, and supported (secured) bike parking near street level. I a...

The perennial question, should this be UC rather than SWP? I know excavating the basement is Site Works, but there are four ground level columns at the Southern end which have been poured. You can see one of these in EBG's photo from this morning Good pick up, just changed it to U/C :) Good stuff 👍...

Proposal for the vacant block at 76 South Tce: "Construct ten level mixed use building comprising of nine apartments and office at ground level." South Tce is really getting a nice level of density now, will be good to see East Tce follow suit. Still not really there though. I had conside...

It's turning out okay and I've said previously I'm a fan of the glazing. But it's now becoming glaringly obvious how bulky this thing is, that for me is knocking it back a peg or two.
Which makes me wonder, if there is eventually a second tower where are they going to put it exactly?

What a schmozzle. They claim the site needs to suit S.A's needs for the next 100 years, it's a shame the didn't apply the same criteria to the nRAH years back.
Not to mention the cost blowout. You really couldn't make this stuff up

   Coming up to 18 months and still not above ground. This must be over a year behind schedule. Yep, I feel especially sorry for the restaurant Eleven bordering this property. A high-end establishment that opened just before demolition started. They must be absolutely spewing at t...

I have no doubt this years event will be a resounding success, based on public sentiment and living in the past. Corporate sponsorship is well down and so are the ticket prices for the punters, no doubt the punters...aka the tax payer will pick up the tab.

Re: AFL Magic Round in Adelaide
WA has two major stadiums, Optus and WACA. WACA is still in use. The AFL wants to grow the game outside of the traditional states, that is Victoria and SA mainly. If it happens, it's probably going to go to Queensland or NSW, to try portray the "national competition" image further. NSW ha...

Re: AFL Magic Round in Adelaide
https://indaily.com.au/sport/football/2022/09/20/afl-considers-magic-round-for-2023/ All mainland states besides Victoria are pitching for this. This is a pretty dumb idea and if it does happen, it would have to be in a state with two venues of suitable capacity. Which means might as well already h...
