[VIS] Re: 185 Victoria Square | ~112m | 31 Levels | Hotel

Shame they aren't taking the opportunity to demolish the existing monstrosity there. It was Adelaide's first "skyscraper" of the International style that was prevalent in the 1950s. Hence why it is heritage listed. I agree, it's one ugly building. But i'm sure in decades to come they'll l...

I'm still amazed people were allowed to move in with the tower in that state.

[APP] Re: 353-359 King William St | 53 m | 16 Levels | Kings Head Hotel

We have seen in recent years heritage buildings delisted because they were butchered by 70s and 80s extensions. Based on that precedent this lot should not be able to remove so much as a brick unless they can come up with a much more impressive design than these early concepts. They're just getting...

Well Marshall did propose a $600 million "basketball stadium", but the ppl voted. Can't see anything better getting floated in the next 3 and a bit years :|

Re: Superloop 500

The fact they're even going to go ahead with it, doing everything from scratch, in such a short time...even if they get crowds as shit as what The Bend gets, its a success. This year's event shouldn't be held in high expectations. The 2023 event onwards however.. Well they're not really doing it fr...

Re: Superloop 500

Don't get me wrong, I attended at least one day of the Clipsal probably ten times over the years. A couple of times the full four days. But I really can't see that the V8's are going to be a long term thing. For myself and i'd say many of the other fans that attended, it was all about the Holden vs...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy

This, the inquiry into the MAB decision at former gasworks and the blocking of Westfield's push for paid parking at Tea Tree Plaza are all dangerous examples of this Govts attitude that private contracts can be torn up on a whim. It sends a very poor message for would-be private organisations or inv...

[COM] Re: West Franklin | 54m & 64m | 17 & 20 lvls | Apartments

Re the discussion above. Like it or not, the very large OTR on West Terrace would fill much of the after 9pm needs of the western part of the city, at exorbitant prices of course. But it does have the advantage of convenient parking spaces making it easy to duck in and out.

[SWP] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 124m | 38 levels

I walked through the old plaza today and pretty much every shop is now vacant or packing up. Strange that I kinda felt a bit nostalgic, as i've literally walked through there hundreds if not a thousand times over the years :( But of course it will be a fantastic development for Adelaide when it's fi...
