[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

I am not sold the location is good but I am with rev that a very small amount of people would care about the heritage buildings at the site. I have a feeling they would only care because a piece of paper was previously signed to say the buildings were important. And not because those buildings hold ...

Perhaps they will have people tracking coin values and trading in general.
They also may switch mined coin based on their predictions and need to deploy different software.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Now take the heavy rail corridors away and see the chaos that is created on the roads. How many buses are required to replace 1x 3car train? Imagine all the buses lined up at Adelaide Oval on game days. Imagine the CBD at peak hour with all those extra busses on the roads. But for the 100km not yet...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

but based on those figures we could probably build 100km of tramlines or more for the cost of finishing those last 10km of South Road. It is all about priorities. Trains and trams are afforded every benefit. Everything stops to let rail through, rail stops are built better, we spend big on pedestri...

It is directly over the old escalator.
I imagine there is a pit which may contain a motor etc?
Perhaps the opening offers the easiest access to a plant room.

.well how about an acquatic centre right in the centre of town....in a high rise building...swimming pools with street views, diving towers that are 5 storeys above the city, saunas on a rooftop...all possible....with no carparking, but the location being in the middle of thousands of apartment dwe...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Then you also have to factor in the much shorter lifespan of buses, the extra maintenance required for all those extra buses, extra drivers.. I would love an economist to jump in because I think the costs have different impacts. Trains are often imported at great upfront costs which means the money...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The O-Bahn is like an express train service to Paradise and TTP. Should you wish to go any further on a bus past these 2 interchanges you either have to change or wait the normal time for a bus......your local bus does not run every 5 minutes during the day and certainly not every 5-10 m minutes at...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The o-bahn is by far the most successful PT in Adelaide so there is no hesitation for mass take up of a bus service with very high frequency and close to destination stops. I don't doubt this, but very few areas have access to BRT. Closing local stations and expecting rail users to happily transiti...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

I can only speak from my experience but if someone closed my local station that's a 5 minute walk away and replaced it with a 'better' station with higher frequency trains 15 minutes walk away I'd be significantly less likely to use it - especially if it was hot or raining or if I had stuff/childre...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The Gawler line could be sped up right now by.....closing North Adelaide (retaining the heritage building) and closing permanently Greenfields, Nurlutta, Womma and Gawler Oval. There you go instant quicker journeys and less stations to upgrade. It is hard to find stations on the Gawler line that ar...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Re the above, unfortunately not everyone drives. Try living 1.5kms in between those stations, whilst being 400-600 metres east/west of the track with minimal if any bus options. Until this void is filled, then the stations should remain where they are for now. Try living 1.5km from a train station,...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

So what about the hundreds of buses that go further than TTP? Are they a waste of time? Is the state government turning the Obahn into a park'n'ride to the the north eastern suburbs? Should all buses just terminate at TTP? What should be done if the ridership falls off a cliff past TTP? A new multi...

Schnitz store front and location never grabbed me. Every other store just looked better and are in a more visible spot. I also think Grill'd was probably catering to a very similar audience and was right next door. Grill'd had the better looking store and location so people just got that. Anything t...
