that will be a key test with such a long west facing elevation - too little solar treatment means lots of blinds as there are no external shading devices

[U/C] Re: Proposal# 88 O'Connell St - Makris dev. 6 lvl

i suggest that you mobilise the 'forces' to ensure a high number of supportive comments as possible remember that planning decisiions can hinge on these matters and in a balance sheet you need good written responses to counter groups such as the North Adelaide Society. and if you know people that li...

[CAN] Re: #Proposed: Cnr Gouger/West Terrace, 8lv $20m

it does happen everywhere
camden council in london just refused a much needed and otherwise great 10 storey building in central london on the basis of the overshadowing impact to one window in a nearby property (which already had daylight issues anyway)!!!

Re: 9Lv $50M Apartments - Kent Town

once again every runs to quickly to denegrate councils, this should not have major project status. if every mid height tower developer runs to the govt then the whole process is undermined there is a planning system in place and if it 'perceptibly' fails to deliver then the applicant has clear choic...

[COM] Re: #UC: The Precinct - 5 19 lvl - 62m towers

not too mention that in stacking up the economics they probably got more govt grant for homeless accommodation than trying to sell for student housing or bottom dwelling private accommodation - lets face it living above a bus station is not high on most people's list

Re: #Redevelopment - Port Adelaide Waterfront $1.2billion

i agree
if the council entered into a planing development agreement (or likewise) then they are not acting professional
there may be other factors behind their approach but my guess it is political with officers having to act accordingly for members

Re: Development in out-of-council areas

within SA there are i remember a number of areas that are called 'land not within a council area' and each has a Development Plan of its own. The Dev Plan sets the planning policy for that 'area' and is the primary assessment tool like any other. they are Eyre, Whyalla, Coastal, Far North, fLINDERS,...
